jojo8989 0 Posted April 20, 2010 Never really was interested in Gold or Diamonds on reps. But ive never actually seen a gold or diamond rep in real life so i'm curious- What are they like? Lets see some pictures and reviews if you guys have them. I have a gen Sub and im thinking about buying the rep just to compare gold tone haha, what a great hobby. Curious to see what you guys have to say, and sorry if this has been posted, my search on the subject turned up nothing.
scope 3 Posted April 20, 2010 Gold tends to wear off if you are using it as a beater. I stick to ss.Never have been a diamond guy.

Luthier 1 Posted April 20, 2010 Depends on plating. If it's wrapped gold, it will stay well for many years, if it's goldplated - expect to see wear after 1-2 years, depend how often you wear it. Diamonds - no-no to me, because it's very, very far from real diamonds, and just screams - It's a fake!!!
NFleischer 4,355 Posted April 20, 2010 here's a very nice TT sub (Noob Factory mods by BK) its said to be 14kt. 'wrapped' that is not plated. practically that means mid links are gold all around and gold is less yellow. it costs $400 and i've had it for more than 2 years w/o gold fading. also works great- gen ETA mov't
AllergyDoc 40 Posted April 20, 2010 I've had some bling watches, but have gotten rid of most of them. I do have a couple of pics, though. :P Here's the granddaddy of them all: blinged-out DD. Only wore it twice out of the house. I liked this DJ and regret selling it. It was a nice little bling: This was a cheapo, but it was also a lot of fun: The CZs really caught the light--it looked the business in the sun. These three were/are blingy: I still have the one in the middle, the YM. This one was supposed to have the best CZs, but they didn't sparkle: I don't think I'd go that route again. The better ones, the ones I got from Josh and Andrew, would probably hold up in the long run but the problem is, the gold plating can tend to change color with time. The YM is the exception. It was supposedly a "Taiwan Best" with wrapped gold midlinks.
Luthier 1 Posted April 20, 2010 My wrapped TT Sub is one of my faws, and I wear it a few days every week for almost 3 years, and no wear signs.

KBH 7 Posted April 20, 2010 Here's some crappy pictures of my wife's Ladies DJ. It's over a year old and gets lots of wear. Still looks like new.
rc42 0 Posted April 20, 2010 Actually, the cubic zirconia that is used for imitation diamonds can be very difficult to tell from the real thing, if bling is your thing then go for it, even ifyou're not sure you should get at least one bling rep

KinCaidk 0 Posted April 21, 2010 This is one of my favorite watches.. I would wear it all the time if it wasn't for the choppy seconds and the white datewheel. The pink gold seems very durable. I've worn this alot and it's actually one of my least scratched watches :P
