cybee 0 Posted April 26, 2010 The phrase "new shoes" is being bandied about a lot on watch forums as it refers to getting a new strap. I know that shoes are made with leather, but how long has this term on watch forums been going around? Are people that use this term cooler and more hip than those who don't??? I'm definitely not cool, just curious about it.

PatronSaintofChainsaws 1 Posted April 26, 2010 You think that's bad? You haven't spent any time around the gun forums, where the stocks/grips are referred to as "furniture".
cybee 0 Posted April 26, 2010 You think that's bad? You haven't spent any time around the gun forums, where the stocks/grips are referred to as "furniture". Furniture? Thanks PSOC. At least there is one other person who has heard this term on the forums. First time I heard of the sissy vs. real man thing. :P
GC 4,517 Posted April 26, 2010 I have/will always referred to them as wings, not shoes, because of the shape when they are worn in. But I think you nailed it, if all the "cool kids" are saying it, than I will make a effort NOT to!!! "cool kids" come and go, just like fads... all just sheeple

cybee 0 Posted April 26, 2010 Wow Dingleberry that 111 is my "grail" watch. It would look great on a pair of new "shoes" from Gunny.

I tried this weekend, but it just did not fit the occassion. I will be getting some Bob bean shoes for my next watch tho.....
