Hazz 0 Posted May 19, 2013 Does anyone know what movement a genuine Breitling second hand will fit onto, I thought it would be OK for a 2836-2 but alas as some of you know it don't both other hands are fine,,,,,,at a loss :(
Crusader 0 Posted May 19, 2013 Gen Steelfish has Caliber 17, which is based on ETA 2824-2... so I would imagine you will need to order new movement? But then again, not sure if second hand will fit 100%.
Hazz 0 Posted May 19, 2013 cheers I got a spare 2824, so I will try that one tomorrow...........

Hazz 0 Posted May 19, 2013 Here is the link to breitlingsource for some info...not many techical data, but it's something http://www.breitling...omarine_16.html bugger it, I should just get a gen movement, this is the gen dial and hands minus the gen second hand,
conx 0 Posted May 19, 2013 I thought that 2836 and 2824 were exactly the same hand sizes.
Crusader 0 Posted May 19, 2013 Oh that would be nice. Gen strap then and it's the whole package (almost). But the gen movement probably costs pretty penny No idea about the cost of it...
Hazz 0 Posted May 19, 2013 I thought that 2836 and 2824 were exactly the same hand sizes. As did I, I have also been told that second hands were generic.
conx 0 Posted May 19, 2013 Interested to know how this goes - I have a similar project, but 2836 hands are going on a gen omega movement which is based on the 2824. Good luck!

Cheers, this is one I want to get sorted myself, I belive Breitling did have a SOSF without the arrow, but never been confirmed......if so I would settle. P4GTR 0 Posted May 19, 2013 They came with both the box and arrow second hand, no difference otherwise. Was thinking about your situation and came online to post. I say leave it be! Gen movement would be a waste of money, it's just an ETA 28XX.. why get ripped off by a brand name, thats what we avoid here right? Really sucks your hand doesn't fit but if you have V2 hands, they probably match the dial so well you really dont even need the gen hands. Sell them and recoup your money, it's not worth paying to have them broached, etc. The watch is damn near perfect with a dial swap alone. Just my 2c. Keep us updated.
