flyr 4 Posted May 31, 2013 What's you guys opinions on the movement options. I don't need the Swiss movement. I'm toying with the idea of a cheaper movement. It's going to be a daily beater.. V5 is my decision. I've read that there are some issues with some of the cheaper movements. I want reliability but don't need Swiss. You've answered your own question. Don't want expensive Swiss, don't want cheap 21j, answer = 25j Asian clone
R1evans 0 Posted May 31, 2013 It's all going to come down to cost,Swiss eta €300, Asian eta €250 or the 21j will be€150. All prices approx, there or there about,it's up to your wallet.
usudno 0 Posted May 31, 2013 Would the 21j be ok for a beater. I plan on waterproofing it as well. Just fyi
flyr 4 Posted May 31, 2013 21j are cheap to replace if it breaks , if you can do it yourself.
usudno 0 Posted May 31, 2013 I'm more worried about reliability. If its less money because its not as smooth I'm ok with it. I don't want to pay less for a piece of jump. Lol
R1evans 0 Posted May 31, 2013 21j new breed 4813 beats at 28800,so it's the same as eta sweep. So for$150 you can't go wrong. I've just bought a gen rubber strap for my ceramic po,and when you add in the cost of a clasp,I've paid more for them than I did for the watch.
usudno 0 Posted May 31, 2013 lol. so it looks like a 21j 28800 for me.

ben1988 0 Posted September 9, 2013 Can't say I'm a huge fan of the open caseback, it doesn't fit with the rugged aesthetic in my opinion. Still one of the best looking watches ever made though.
