'Swiss' Movement Costs

Recommended Posts

NFleischer

I've noticed that the price for the 'Swiss ETA's' is going up exponentially over the past several months. I see the Noob

Factory is leading the charge. For example: Puretime has the new CF AP Diver listed at $170 extra for the 'Swiss' version. I was floored when I

saw $120 then $150 before that. We all know about the Swatch politics, etc, but this is getting crazy. I would be able to rationalize the

cost if I knew I was getting a real brand new movement. Judging by the CrPO's which came with what looks like a hybrid or old

movement it seems crazy at this point to take the Swiss version. When they were $40-50 I bought them every time.

I agree especially when you aren't getting a fully Swiss movement in all likelihood. Too much money with no guarantee Its Swiss!

Probably

Agree, always have had a bit of an issue with the provenance of "swiss ETA" Stellita or asian clone is IMO the safest way to go to get what you pay for, and from a monetary standpoint, Asian clone 8 times out of 10
