spboudart 0 Posted April 29, 2010 A little over a week ago I receive my Chopard Mille Miglia Gran Turismo XL from Hont and it's the first time a watch came from him with a problem. Not really a problem, but 2, but very minors one. I've contacted Hont and he said he'll get back to me after checking with the factory. A picture is more appropriate to describe the 1st minor problem: As for the 2nd minor problem a picture won't do any good: My rubber strap stink so badly that left in a non ventilated room after 2 hours you would think a rat (or its whole familly) had died in it a month ago. I know Hont is really busy and I wasn't go to hassle him with email so I went and tried to fix those discrepancies. I started to wash the strap under water with some soap but it wouldn't do any good, so I decided to leave it for 48 hours in some liquid detergent and that worked just fine. Pretty confident into solving this first problem, I went for the second and here is the result: I use some microset and it was done in a few minute. Here is a few pic of the watch: and a wrist shot: http://i462.photobucket.com/albums/qq341/spboudart/DSC03608.jpg[/img
greg_r 81 Posted April 29, 2010 The lettering on the rotor is an issue I've seen on several watches. Good to see you've managed to fix it. As far as the smelly strap goes - some rubber straps are just made of dead donkeys or something - I assume that there's a cheap supply in China... I've had a couple like that which have ended up in the bin - they're usually dust magnets too. Watch looks good, though!
apoopoo999 0 Posted April 29, 2010 It must be the oil used to make the strap that stinks. Rubber doesnt usually smell bad. Probably some kind of cheap organic oil that started to decompose

KinCaidk 0 Posted April 30, 2010 Nice watch i have one in Rose Gold that I got from Mary. The strap on mine had the gen-like vanilla-scent and doesn't attract any dust. At all!! Shoot her a PM if you want a new strap

Actually, relatively little photoshop on any of TTK's work (which is what Baldrick has quoted here). Just superb photos (bear in mind that he was a professional photographer at one point). narikaa 129 Posted April 30, 2010 For the worried conservationists out there The factory tells me that only 1.265 sewer rats are rendered down for inclusion per one dozen strap sets .
