Which Carerra for my small wrist

Recommended Posts

Pharmo

Before anyone gets worked up - I have already searched and read all the forums but needed your help with this...

My wrist is 16cm and so I was about a order a rep of the beautiful carerra chronograph sport as shown below prob from Mary (my 2nd rep order ever!)

I know this watch is 41mm and should fit me ok. I also understand this is a very good replica.

However the carerra day date (shown below) is meant to be a better rep and has AR coating which is something that I am in very interested in BUT it is bigger at 43mm.

So the question is in REAL terms is the 2mm going to make a big difference? Does the day-date really wear too big on the wrist (esp mine at a very small 16cm)?

is the replica of day-date that much better?

Sorry for all the questions but I am soo excited....

The day date is awesome especially on bracelet ...

I wouldn't worry too much about the wrists thing....

It's a stunning piece .... My wrists are quite small, I have one of these and love it.... I also have super avengers which are 48mm

Doesn't bother me in slightest....

If you really want a good judge go to an AD and try one on....

They'll a be pretty imposing on your wrist but not so much as a Pam :)

Day Date is 43mm in size, but it's quite thick with domed caseback (I think that's it) and it sits quite big on wrist. 44mm Pam is more balanced I think.

Here it is on my 16cm wrist. It looks ok, but I would personally get Date 41mm version, the one with 7750 is also great rep.

Nice watch Cru, very nice.

Thanks mate, it's my brothers though :) Bought it from Reg a while ago for his birthday, just stole it few times for wristshots. Great details on this watch, especially the numbers and textured dial.

Get the day date. It's a better looking watch as well.

It really shouldn't matter...you can adjust the size of the bracelet anyway, and if worst comes to worst you will have to change the strap :D

I used to have a day date and I have a fairly small wrist (just over 7")... I personally thought it wore a touch smaller than it was. Had a lot of admiring glances at it, and positive comments about it from my friends telling me how good it looked etc. For some reason I decided to sell it. That was a big mistake! May get another at some point, really nice reps, very close to gen.

I would get de 41mm one. Not only because it's closer to the gen, but also because of the size issue.

I though the 43mm one i.e day date was closer to the gen!?

Not much in it tbh. The 41mm is an absolute sone-cold straight out the box super-rep.

I'm probably in the minority, but I think the 41mm is the better option. It's a timeless classic. The day/date is nice, but I don't think it's going to age well.

thanks for your opinion g.man. I must admit I am leaning more towards 41mm for the exact reason u said - it is a classic simple design.

The thing holding me back is lack of AR coating.

Decisions............decisions..........decisions!!

Took these for you.

Day/date = 43mm

Carrera 1887 = 41mm.

Deceptive eh?

The 1887 sits a bit higher being the 7750 version, but as you can see, both looks near the same size on the wrist.

I only have a small wrist too, although I couldn't care less. As long as it keeps my hand attached to my arm and I can wrap a watch around it :giggle:

Most of my watches are over 41mm.

Thanks Jase, very helpful post and great pictures.

Ive already recieved 41mm carerra racing chronograph and love it to bits.

Must admit love the 43mm daydate and with the ar coating i have a feeling i am going to order one of these as well next month.
