Pics of the my New Super Avenger

Recommended Posts

JohnG

This arrived in Boston before Christmas - from Sead at RepGeek.com. Fast shipping, easy transaction, beautiful watch. I checked it out to make sure it was working properly and then my step-mother wrapped it up (it was a gift from her to me).

I love the watch. I still have not decided if it is a little big on me or not. So far, those who I have asked say that though the watch is huge it doesn't look silly on my wrist... so for now I will keep it, though I have toyed with the idea of selling it and getting the Skyland (blue) instead. I wanted a solid blue dial but since the current SA rep doesn't come with the new batons dial, I had to settle for white (though it is very beautiful). I just find it a little hard to see the hands at times against the white dial.

The AR is great, nice fit and fnish, lovely watch all around but the big fault on this watch is the bracelet. It is much thinner than the gen Pro-II bracelet. Not even close. Not a giant tell unless you are looking for it and then only from certain angles. But the watch FEELS like it deserves a chunkier bracelet...

Anyway, for now I am thrilled...

The SA is a nice rep. I had the same one. I sold it because I felt it just flopped around on the wrist. Too top-heavy. Maybe the gen bracelet would have made a difference. Still, a very nice replica.

I will say this is the first watch I have owned that I have noticed people looking at... in Charles de Gaulle I caught two different guys looking at it...

Nice watch, John!!! I CAN say it.

No, really, it's gorgeous! Massive, solid, VERY manly, and elegant.

It's on my short list, but definitely with blue dial. I have 2 APs with white dial/white hands, and never wear it, cuz hard to see white on white.

Enjoy!!!

Breitling reps seem to be the pick of the bunch at the moment. I've got the usual suspects, two BCE's and an SOSF. The quality just seems to be better than the rest at the moment. Are they all made by the same factory I wonder? I'm going to check out a Big Bang soon now prices have tumbled as I believe these are also reputedly well made. If you don't like the bracelet gen rubber is reasonable and IMO looks great.

I too can still say it...nice watch John... :drunksing:

Do you have any idea, how many rep. factories in China?

Actually, there's no watch factories.

Some make bracelets only, some- cases, some - dials, hands, etc. Then it all goes to assembling factory, that sells finished product to dealers.

Dealers have contact only with assembling factories.

That's why some dealers can arrange modification of your watch before recieving it in dealer's office.

Good lookin' watch, mate - certainly doesn't look too big on you. I know what you mean about seeing the hands - always the problem with white dials. Can't resist 'em though :drunksing:

Thanks guys!

I sure am loving the watch. Like I said, I wish it had a more accurate bracelet. If they ever come out with an accurate bracelet I will get one but I don't feel like forking over $550 for a gen Pro-II...

I saw someone selling a SA a month ago with gen batons dial, pro-II bracelet, bezel... They had invested over $1300. Crazy. But it WAS nice.

+1 for the beauty of that watch, and also that you don't need to worry that it's too big.

I was in my local shopping mall yesterday and naturally went in the ADs to look at the watch porn, and see if anything worth having was on sale (it wasn't, of course). In two separate shops though, someone was trying on watches, and in each case they were Breitlings. Don't know if they were going to pony up the £4k, but either way it's an unscientific indication that the brand is popular at the moment. That might also explain the sidelong glances from passers by.

Man I just got a chubby...

That is exactly what I would love to have... but I can't really bring myself to drop that cash on the bracelet or the dial... Between the two I could buy three decent reps...

I still want the IWC Ingy, a SMP Chrono, and a Pam.... at LEAST.

Gonna sell the Asian SOSF, the Asian GMTIIc, and am toying with selling the SSD too. I have already sold the Explorer I to someone here in Marbella for what I paid for it. I would hate to get rid of the SSD but I see SO many fake Subs around that I feel self-concious when I wear it...

So, I would end up with the

Poljot,

SA

Ingy

SMP Chrono

Pam (unsure which one)

Five watches - nice little collection....

I was thinking the same thing. Rubber or shiny blue leather.
