It seems like there are very different interpretations of what a dresswatch is. To me it is:

Simple, elegant design - should not grab attention, so anything sporty is a no-go

Slim/thin casing - to slide under cuff

33-40mm (MAX!) - understated presence

On leatherstrap (black/dark brown gator or croc)

Preferably white or silver dial - blends in with a white shirt

Yip, mines also and was very lucky to pick this one up in M2M - mint like new.

Re the gold, seems to be holding up good, but only out on special occasions :D

IMO a "dress watch" is whatever you want it to be, whatever you feel comfortable wearing on whatever you classify as a "dressed-up" occasion. I've worn PAM's (both luminor and Radiomir style cases), Rolex, JLC, ALS and more recently since acquired, Patek and AP, all on variations of SS, leather or croc bands, to black tie events without thinking twice. The only ones i'd not really think of wearing to those sorts of occasions are 40mm+ "divers", anything larger than 42mm (except PAMs), anything on a rubber strap (Aquanaut excluded, obviously) and almost every Breitling. Oh, and chronographs.

I do love the PP Nautilus and I think that is my overall favorite dress watch. I also like the PAM 183 (photo not mine) which I want to own, and the IWC Ingenieur Laureus which is currently my favorite dress watch that I own.
