alphakazi 0 Posted January 4, 2009 Many probably don't recall but 4-5 months ago I ordered this from Ruby and it came defective (see my avatar) yep - it's been a while but in the end, I got my watch back - fixed and running well after a couple months I gave up so it was like getting a new watch in the mail I'm set on getting the best possible version of this Super Ocean Heritage - then getting Cheiftang AR and also relumed this is the $129 version - with a surprisingly smoooooth 21J - smooth winding and smooth, quiet rotor with accurate crown adjustment - it's smoother than my ETA2824 - werd... and it has basic AR to boot I was also happy to see that the date wheel was perfectly aligned. lume dots are the standard Breitling rep joke but I'm not complaining after seeing some woozies out there Lug tips are a bit sharp but nothing noticeable when wearing it and a basic fix - the screw down crown goes in smooth and accurately - now that it's on my wrist, I'm happy with this $129 cheapy anyhow, pics or it never happened of course... greg_r 81 Posted January 4, 2009 looks damned good for a cheapie - I really must buy an SOH myself, it's one of the handful of Breits that I'd feel comfortable wearing. Interesting what you say about the 21J. The last couple I've bought (DeepSea and GMTII) have also been incredibly smooth - very hard to tell that they're 21,600 bph, they're almost as smooth as my high-beat B&R
iabounty 8 Posted January 4, 2009 Glad to see the watch made it back home at last alpha. As for the 21 j asian movements I think they're great. Mine are smooth sweeping and tough as nails. Nothing to be afraid of now a days.
alphakazi 0 Posted January 4, 2009 thank you gentlemen, I think it depends on which 21J is in question, there are a number of them, the most common being the DG2813 - maybe they kicked it up a notch at the movement factory
sconehead 5 Posted January 4, 2009 It's not just reps this fault occurs on. Years ago, I bought one of the early Seiko Kinetics when they first came out and the minute hand got caught under the 'Seiko' logo. It's still lying around in a draw somewhere, maybe I'll try to repair it. I think I paid about £270 for it at the time, can't remember exactly now, but I remember I could have picked up a used SMP for the same dough...the innocence of youth... sconehead 5 Posted January 5, 2009 So, Ruby is alive and delivers? Good to know.By the way... about SuperOcean.. Anyone seen this model replicated? I'm 99% sure I saw them pushing them out on iOffer a while ago. Don't know about the exact dial colour or the quality though. You could send Hont a pic and he might be able to source one. I haven't used him myself but he's supposed to be o.k. and has found watches for people in the past...

alphakazi 0 Posted January 6, 2009 she won't like you talking about her like that but seriously, I don't think *anyone* will buy from Ruby on this forum... too bad though, she had a good run - I think most of us loved her - well... John was IN love but still
