Lumo 0 Posted June 11, 2013 I have been looking at Omega Seamasters for a while, but none have seemed quite right, a bit too chunky, hands too big. Then on the forum here I saw a picture of the 39mm Railmaster (the one with full second hand, not at 6) and I want one. OK it doesn't have a date or rotating bazel (both things I was looking for), but, do I really need those? Now I really have an itch to get this watch. Has anyone got one? Any comments? I emailed Mary asking about availability.
cougar1 0 Posted June 11, 2013 Used to be an old version railmaster that would have been considered a superrep, not available anymore which is really unfortunate, mary will probably be able to get you one of the newer ones, they are not too bad but have some issues vs the old, e.g. blockier numbers, no AR, less quality case/strap etc but still a nice rep. Lumo 0 Posted June 11, 2013 Darn I missed out on one of the older ones. It looks fantastic. Mary confirms that no decent reps are available. Don't suppose anyone knows of a source for one of these?
cougar1 0 Posted June 11, 2013 I believe the only way you might pick one up is the sales sections 2nd hand. ....A few alternatives, try source the gold plated one, it has the better dial/hands as above. They are still available and last time I looked they were on timeshops. ...I cant personally use the get on with gold cases though...and it seems ludicrous they don't do it in steel case anymore. Also, source an older style aqua terra rep which has the old good case (still available from some dealers, josh/andrew etc) and get a gen railmaster dial/hands and do a franken. Gen raily dials are rare, and they are expensive but they are gettable.

SeptemberSun 0 Posted June 11, 2013 Now that's one I'd like to own. A timeless design IMO
Lumo 0 Posted June 12, 2013 Thanks for the info. I'm not sure if I can post links here, but I looked on trusty time to see and in addition to the gold one, they have two stainless steel ones, do you know if these are the good rep or not? What should I look for to find out? cougar1 0 Posted June 13, 2013 (edited) These are the older style case from Josh/Andrew:: http://www.p-cls.com...ers-p-2907.html ...click the link twice!! ask either if they can be still sourced, and what colours. The dial has some errors, but the case/bracelet are pretty damn good. The one frank shows above is very similar, old good case, some dealers might also have them in a21j, but they can be hit and miss on the cheaper end. beer30 0 Posted June 27, 2013 Just so you have an idea what the cheapie's look like here's a QC pic and a wrist pic taken with my phone. The numbers and markers have a permanent light green color to them which at first I didn't like but it's grown on me. Of course the lume is pretty weak, none on the dial and the hands are pretty dim. It was just something I ordered along with another watch I was wanting, no research no nothing, and this is the one I like best of the 2. It's become my daily beater for now. psantos1091 0 Posted August 1, 2013 I came across this one... http://www.kingshowbox.com/goods.php?id=3256 I like it, but don't know if I can use it everyday. It seems more of a dress watch imo..but I love the open back! -off topic..should I get that or a planet ocean? What would be more versatile? (just searching for opinions:)
