Tressles61 0 Posted May 14, 2010 Just got this back from Speedy, who fixed the chrono for me. What happened to the chrono? I have one of those too and haven't had any issues.
AllergyDoc 40 Posted May 14, 2010 Tressles61: The chrono second hand would stop after running for 12 seconds. The 3rd time it happened the whole watch stopped working. I'd push the reset button--nothing. Wind it--nothing. Then I'd come back to it in 3 hours and the chrono hands had reset and it was running?? Weird.

I'm so glad I have had pretty good luck so far.
AllergyDoc 40 Posted May 14, 2010 No. He just said "That'll be an easy one." I bought it from someone else and I think he was selling it because of the chrono problem. He's very knowledgeable about watches. It was $40 to fix and $9 shipping. After about a 2 month wait. Now it seems so small as I have gotten used to the Super Avenger size. :(
AustinTech 0 Posted May 14, 2010 Thursday... Daaaaaamn! Where did you get that, and please tell me it's affordable! Don't know if it's just the pic or what, but that's puuuurdy. :(

Don\'t know if it\'s just the pic or what, but that\'s puuuurdy. :( That\'s either a Getat or JacksonTe all for probably less that $126 superlumed a la torche... AD has the 127 version. I am getting one without the seconds--sometime this year from Getat..
AustinTech 0 Posted May 14, 2010 So what is the difference between these and the reps that the dealers sell for $300? I mean other than the panerai on the dial and movement.
ebzen02 341 Posted May 14, 2010 The case is slightly different. The movement is sterile as is the case back. Other than that, I would not pay $300 for just the dial. Getat superlumes it for $6 and the quality is excellent from what I hear.. Ask AD he has one. FYI.. Okabom uses these case (and DSNs) a lot to build his vintage watches- I guess that speaks for itself. EDIT: it's actually $126 EMS shipped and superlumed! No drop shipping and each watch is inspected.. That's why it takes about a month to get.
AllergyDoc 40 Posted May 14, 2010 The only complaint I have is the crown lever is a bit flimsy. At least it flush, though. I wear mine every day. Even has the swan-neck thingy
ebzen02 341 Posted May 14, 2010 This is the one I should be getting from Tat soon..

Tressles61 0 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) Just did the unthinkable... Took my new UPO to the AD to get the bracelet resized. "That is a very nice watch" she said and resized it for free. Just got here today from Mary. I have a couple of watches that I am familiar enough with the gens that I would walk into an AD with without hesitation - this is one of them. I wish I could pull off a 47mm but as you can see this 45.5 is the biggest I am willing to go on my 6.5" wrist. Edited May 14, 2010 by Tressles61

Even has the swan-neck thingy I wonder if you tighten down the CG screws if that would help that flimsy lever problem. If it doesn't and you are comfortable with removing it then try sanding the back of the CG by placing some 240 grit over about a 3" diameter can. Just a few thousands of an inch can make a big difference.

I think it cost $150, the thing I really like about it is the numbers are not white nor orange but an off-white/cream color (ever so slightly vintage imo!)
