looking for good submariner

Recommended Posts

pinkersc
Hi there!

I'm new to the forum although I have been reading it for a couple of weeks.

I was looking for a good submariner replica and I would like to have some advices from you.

I would like to purchase a long lasting replica and I would like to spend no more than 3-400 $, so what should I look at?

can you help me to customize it?

For example:

movement: swiss ETA (?)

sapphire crystal glass

2.5 magnification date

copy 1:1 (?)

what about the strap?

what else????

I would like to buy from Mary, so I have to tell her exactly what I want

Thank you and congrats for the site, wonderful: I learned about watches more in a couple of weeks than in my whole life!!!

Just bought a sub from Mary. She is the best. I payed $295 and it is very nice. Tell Mary what you want and she will make it happen at a fair price.

I think the 316F steel is nonsense, no way that dealers know what type of steel is being used

Paying extra for this is a waste of money...

A simple polishing cloth can make the case/bracelet more shinier if that's what you want

I think the same,

the 316L is the international watch and knife production reference. My modern Rolex watches were polished with dremel polishing bits, silicon ans cloth, and using polishing pasts. When I compared my reps with gens, gen Rolex were like dull...

which dealers can get the noob with clone ETA movement ?

how much would that cost approx?

It looks good. Hopefully it's the latest-greatest with "309F". If not, she should give you a better price because Josh sells that one for $328 (plus shipping).

I also bought one from WBK and it was crap. Didn't look anything like this one.

Look at the lousy bezel on my cheapo from WBK:

Sorry, how much was it?

I'm little confused here ... Some says that the price is conditioned with a movement and that a $100 watch should be same as $300 watch, except the movement should be different. Now, I don't know anymore. Someone claims that a $100 noobmariner is the best looking sub available, other claims that his $100 sub is a crap (cheapy).

Looks like the answer is: Go, buy both and then decide. :D

The noob is indeed the second best sub out there IMO. I'd be getting one with a clone MVT tho rather than a 21j. The thing to remember is not every $100 sub is a Noobmariner. There are dozens of them out there.

No, not all 21j watches are the same structure as their more expensive brethren, it depends on the factory. A good example are the Hublots. There is a huge difference between the cheaper ones and the top the tree 700 dollar variety and it ain't all the MVT. More often than not the 21j is an entirely different watch, case, dial, bracelet and all. You will sometimes see a 21j version of the good watch, the DSSD being sold by Mary, MReplica, WatchEden and others is a prime example. The only difference there is indeed the MVT. Same goes for a gen Noob and, I belive, the Milgaus Factory stuff.

Noob w/clone should be around $150. No idea where to get it though. It's most often found with 21j.

Anybody else know?

You will go to laugh,

I look on Rolex shop windows, I compare my Sub LV - the only modern I have - with gens... I notice my rep has more character and looks really better than the gen one.

I don't joke :

Its the same with pams, I am not a pam specialist, but all pics of rep Panerai 's I have seen here on the board, looks more real, consistant, solid, than gens I have seen in shops.

I am serious, may be I am mad.

Hi,

I have two questions about Subs.

1. What is the difference between these two watches? CLICK and CLICK

Price is the same, other characteristics, too ... Does the second one really exist? Which look more nice to you?

2. Has Rolex ever made a Blue Submariner with blue dial in solid metal? So that there is no gold parts there?

Talking about THIS watch. I saw a lot of replicas, but I have never seen a real one selling anywhere. How is it with this blue??

Thank you for your answers!

That looks stunningly good ;)

I reckon that will easily pass as gen in all but the most fanatical Rolex collectors eyes IMO - correct sweep, looks good quality, rehaut engraving lines up perfectly...

Good work whoever is running that factory!

And good work Mary for sourcing these! :(

May I ask how much it was?

something less than 200$ for the swiss ETA. it's not my kind of watch, but looking at these pictures I wish I had to wear a suit and a tie in my job to wear it on my wrist
