JohnG 41 Posted January 7, 2009 It is the best quality bracelet ever made for a watch though,to see that they could be bought in the $500 range did really shock me at first,$1500 would seem right, but since they can be purchased for far less,i guess not..... I think $1500 would seem right if there where precious metals or gems involved but it's just machined stainless steel. I'm sure a good deal of work goes into hand fitting and polishing it though For $1500 I bet those 12 year olds who make our watches could make a better bracelet than Breitling does... If I get leather, it will be neither - I don't like those straps even if they were comforable... I like the ones below - so I will probably get something from Strap Culture - here are a few pics, first a repeat of pic of gen SA on non-oem leather, and some pics of SC straps... JohnG 41 Posted January 9, 2009 Don't call Onze honey - he will get the wrong idea... Meh, he will get the wrong idea anyway... Hey, I think I will get a color like the one below, but I think I shuld stay away from this cross stitch strap (though I love it) for the SA, and stick with something like the one that follows it... I mean, would anyone here dare to put the cross-stitch on the SA?
Guest dave123 Posted January 9, 2009 That would really scream out that your watch is a rep, nobody would buy a new gen Breitling watch and put some aftermarket strap on it. Then again, you live in the woods outside of Spain, nobody is going to see it anyway.

JohnG 41 Posted January 9, 2009 That would really scream out that your watch is a rep, nobody would buy a new gen Breitling watch and put some aftermarket strap on it. I am not talking about the fact that the strap is aftermarket, I am talking about the cross-stitch.... I always laugh when people say, "that 'screams rep' - nobody would blah blah blah..." How the fuck does anyone know what other gen owners would or would not do? Actually I know for a fact that many DO put aftermarket straps on gen Breitlings... I have seen DOZENS of gen Breitlings at TZ, WUS, and BS, with aftermarket straps. Most are MUCH cooler looking than the gen straps (most gen straps look like there were made for sausage-smokers). I would rather wear the SA with the rep bracelet than a gen strap - they are fuckin ugly. This is a pic from Breitling Source, aftermarket strap... if you want to see more, go over to any of the gen forums and use the search function.... just like I did. sconehead 5 Posted January 9, 2009 They will when he rides his goat into town. John, perhaps you should kill the goat, skin it and get a custom strap made from it...no 'sausage smoker' would do that...

JohnG 41 Posted January 10, 2009 Ya thats a rep with a gen dial, fooled em huh..... Nobody would buy a new gen Breitling and put an aftermarket strap on it,i know this because i am Dave, and i'm never wrong.... Sure, sure. Gen SA, aftermarket buffalo strap (from Breitling Source) Gen Chronomatic, ABP (aftermarket) Croc Strap: Gen Bently, ABP (afrtermarket) Python: Plenty more out there. Gotta look a little, that all. The problem with all the above straps is not that they are aftermarket, but rather that they look gay - they have that thin sewn edge that makes them look especially attractive to pansies. Need a good masculine design to keep the poofters away. Hence something by Strap Culture should fit the bill...
