Really interesting and informative post. I have a sub WM9 V1 but had no idea where the designation came from. Do you happen know when the very first Rolexes were repped?

I agree, fantastic post.

I also had a 16610 from WM9 but it was from Roger who was the father of George, if I'm right.

So, I'm looking for a vintage (5512, 1665 or 1680) the most closely to gen and if i've understood well, now MBW does no longer exist and I've to go to Narikaa to have a best close to gen.

Am I right?

Sorry if my English is approximate.I draw on my memories of school :giggle:

You can try if Reg can get you a MBK 5513 or 1680

But there is no one out of the box perfect so you have to invest in modding it further cosmetic or with gen parts.

Take a look in the section of Rolex addict.

Reg is the source for getting you the MBK he does handpick it for you when available.

Reg is in Thailand at the moment so perfect timing if you want a MBK sub.

Hi all,

I need your help. I had Reg and here is below what he said.

m80mk4.jpg

If I understand well, he says that I have to inform myself about the MBK models. I agree but where can I see these models?

Is there a website like Trusty, Pefect Clones, Intime etc...

Forgive my ignorance.

Edit : Reg sent me some pics and I'm actually talking with him.

I'll let you know :thepianohasbeendrinking:

That is his standard "disclaimer" i think when you want him to source a MBK sub.

WOW! This was great to read Sardonix, thanks! When I see those old papers, pictures and pricelists it remembers me of the good old time. I am born in '86 but I was allready buying reps in '99 / 2000. I remember that there where a few good models, people didn't even know other models that day then the Day-Date and Datejust. They only know the basic watches from Rolex.

I remember when I first showed somebody a Submariner, he was screaming that the model doesn't excists and things like that. Well, when the years came I was having the luck to met a lot of dealers. Mostly dealers from the Benelux but also from China and Thailand. Again... For me it were 'good old days'.

I am really enjoying reading this, make me think of my first rep and things like that. By the way my first rep was a Quartz Breitling Vitesse with a shark leather bracelet... Missing it since... Wish I had never sold it :(

As stated by the 46 posts before this one...awesome stories, sleek looking watches, but amazing filtered pictures. I look forward to a stunning wm9 16613 someday.
