cobar 0 Posted July 27, 2013 Hey guys, I have a rep Seamaster Planet Ocean (a cheap one) that I bought about a year ago for everyday wear (but have worn about twice). It has a white date wheel that I would like to change to the correct black type. I would also like to change the bezel from orange metal to ceramic. Also the part of the watch behind the strap is scratched and needs to be polished. So firstly where can I get these parts if at all? Secondly I'm no horologist and have no tools... So is there someone out there who could do the upgrade for me? & Finally am I just better off buying a new watch with all the stuff I want already on it and selling the current one? (probably) Thanks guys :-)
J!m 289 Posted July 29, 2013 Contact some of the guys here who offer their modding services. Date wheel is not too bad (depending on the movement you have) but the bezels can be tricky due to many ways of making and attaching them.
olly593 0 Posted July 29, 2013 No harm in sending a few emails out to Kenny and Wiz etc but personally I would just buy a new watch that fits the bill. As you said its a cheapy I'm presuming. 21J. Probably not worth spending the cash on, also dought a ceramic bezel insert would fit.
greg_r 84 Posted July 29, 2013 Buy a new watch - really doesn't make sense to spend money on a cheapie.
