Interesting review and comparison ETA 2824 and ETA Clones

Recommended Posts

onzenuub

I came across a very long but interesting read where the ETA 2824 is reviewed and compared into great depth with the Hangzhou and Sea-Gull eta 2824 clone.

Espacially the comparison between the Hangzhou 6300 and the ETA 2824 is really interesting since this is probably the movement used in our reps, wether they're sold as clones or genuine ETA.....

I don't know if there is a better way to post this......but here is the link from Watchuseek

Link working perfectly now and some serious watch porn there.

If you select "Linear Mode" from the "Display Modes" drop down you can see the whole thread like you do on our own forum.

I haven't finished reading it yet but that HZ6300 certainly does seem to be a clone of the ETA.

I read that article a while ago and one of the most interesting things I remember was about movements being under oiled was much better than being over oiled. It said since these movements aren't going into "heirlooms", it was probably a better business decision to use less oil for less immediate warranty returns. Also the author felt that these movements could last from 10 to 15 years without oil.
