aussie-rabbit 0 Posted August 5, 2013 Any suggestions on this ? sub dials are probably faux, victorinox copy ?
moredhel 0 Posted August 5, 2013 Looks like hours/min/secs in centre pinion, date wheel at 12, day wheel at 3 and 24hr time at 6. Unsure if the subsdials are faux or not, but I personally wouldn't touch this with a stick.

TheInthusiest 0 Posted August 5, 2013 Junk I agree. I bought one when I was ten from a little corner store. I felt cool until the watch stopped and the hour marker fell...

corsa 0 Posted August 5, 2013 Do the swiss actually have an army? Aren't they neutral?
Mystery Shopper 5,887 Posted August 5, 2013 Do the swiss actually have an army? Aren't they neutral? I think they have an army- they make pocket knives & are peace makers for the UN. Do they have a Navy though? Agreed- don't waste your time with that watch.
greg_r 81 Posted August 5, 2013 Do the swiss actually have an army? Aren't they neutral? yes, they have an Army - mostly conscripted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Switzerland

Agreed- don't waste your time with that watch. Oddly, for a landlocked country, they do have a small fleet patrolling the lakes. That must be safest job in any military in the world. corsa 0 Posted August 5, 2013 You gotta laugh, "Because of a long history of neutrality, the army does not take part in armed conflicts in other countries, but takes part in peacekeeping missions around the world." What the bloody hell does that mean???? Hang around until someone fires a shot at you? Then bugger off? How do you keep the peace without without being armed? Probably just show people disgusting "New Swiss Army watches" and they run away screaming!!! :P
Mike on a bike 0 Posted August 5, 2013 They are armed just follow rules of engagement per UN in particular country. By all accounts they are quite competent soldiers, you have heard of the Swiss guard at the Vatican they are not there just to dress funny they are top notch fighters. PS watch is a piece of *#*&! cheeese 0 Posted August 5, 2013 (edited) If you check the Costco website every so often they get some pretty nice Victorinox models including some of the better Air Boss models at 2/3rds reteail. You just need to keep checking since the better models sell out in a few days. If you don't mind quartz they have this model for $350 http://www.costco.com/.product.100035926.html?cm_sp=RichRelevance-_-itempageVerticalRight-_-ClickCP&cm_vc=itempageVerticalRight|ClickCP Edited August 5, 2013 by cheeese
fatarms 7,777 Posted August 5, 2013 I still want one of those Victorinox Swiss Army 241190 ever since I saw it in the birthday bash last year, going for about $375 some places. Swiss hand wind Unitas 6498 movement. Can't beat that price.
conx 0 Posted August 5, 2013 What happened to the old Swiss army? Retired? No surrendered. Hang on, my mistake, it was the French who surrendered.
