KBH 7 Posted May 28, 2010 I was wanting to put in the larger Rolex 2mm spring bars but didn't want the hassle of finding and modding a bracelet and end links on a low budget little project watch. So I came up with a relatively simple way to fake it. All the items needed are shown in the first picture. It turns out a paper clip in my drawer was the proper 1.2mm thickness so I just polished the tip with a Dremel grinder and polisher, cut it off to approx 1 mm and then made 3 more to match. I drilled out the existing spring bar holes approximately 1 1/2 mm deep and glued the polished pieces into the holes. This allows the use of a standard rep bracelet and spring bar and gives the illusion of having the gen spring bar in place. Not too difficult and I like the finished look. AllergyDoc 40 Posted May 28, 2010 Interesting. I assume gen spring bars are just thicker?
PatronSaintofChainsaws 1 Posted May 28, 2010 Interesting. I assume gen spring bars are just thicker? Thicker and shoulderless. Yuki makes a great Rolex-style springbar if you want to go all the way, and they're dirt cheap.
