gottahaverolex 0 Posted September 2, 2013 It took me a while to find some of these but I finally did find the mother load of Swedish and German Mauser ammo pouches to make my straps with. These are getting harder and harder to find but I've found quite the source that should keep me going for a good while. First shipment will be 15 pouches in various colors. Be on the lookout for the finished product if you like ammo straps!
Proctor 5 Posted September 2, 2013 That will be beautiful. I have the ammo pouches from my Mosin Nagant laying around somewhere. Possible project in the future.

gottahaverolex 0 Posted September 2, 2013 My ammo straps will be made exactly like this strap but obviously using the vintage leather. Length, width and thickness are fully customizable. I am buying a leather splitter tomorrow so I can accurately make the straps as thick or thin as you want them.

P4GTR 0 Posted September 5, 2013 That's a lot of ammo pouches, you're going to have your work cut out for you. Well, actually you'll have to cut it yourself but you know what I mean. Do you have a sewing machine?

Do you have a sewing machine? I actually just got another 5 pouch belt too >_< I have a sewing machine but I prefer to hand stitch everything Dan. I will definitely be busy for a long while with all of this.

mysterio 18 Posted September 5, 2013 This is hand stitched? That does not look hand stitched Dan (and you would be most knowledgeable in this area). GHR did mention the look would be like this but most likely not stitched in this way to be in line with the vintage vibe.
gottahaverolex 0 Posted September 6, 2013 This is hand stitched? Yes it is Dan. I have a sewing machine here at my house but I have no clue how to use it.

GHR did mention the look would be like this but most likely not stitched in this way to be in line with the vintage vibe. Um...it is hand stitch as are all of my straps and it's done exactly like my Ted Su, Micah and Gunny straps so how will it not fit with a vintage vibe? This pic is not a lock stitch so the thread is straighter than if it were but I can promise you it is hand sewn by me. Do I need to make a video? Lol! gottahaverolex 0 Posted September 6, 2013 All are stitch by hand with different widths between stitching, some have knots and then I figured out how to hide the knots at the end of the stitching so it's super clean. I'm not sure if the fact that I'm being questioned about the stitching is that I'm really good or really bad?
