yawn 122 Posted September 9, 2013 (edited) After 6 months in the making, the watch is finally finished. \\ Gen dial is very hard to source and it took me a lot of effort to track one down. Other gen parts were relatively easy. Goin did the mod and the chrono hands are still too long on reps, so once he get them sorted out, this baby is heading home. yawn 122 Posted September 9, 2013 IMHO with 4000 $ can buy a good gen But gen 7159 costs like 20k and this little thing starts to grow on me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
greg_r 81 Posted September 9, 2013 No way in hell would I spend anything like that sort of dough on a rep. I don't care how good it is or how much the gen costs.
SSTEEL 0 Posted September 9, 2013 $4k is way too much, and I would guess with some research, time, and patience you will find an alternative for less that half that.

That my dilemma, how far should people go for a rep, with gen movement and correct dial/hand set, should it have higher value for money compare to gen since I will not have issue serving it. My other choice would be a nicely modded reverse dial colour with correct (YUKI) handset and gen (but not ken) movement. (for Asian market) tudor 7032 at price of 1400. alw 0 Posted September 9, 2013 Don´t! My limit goes at 400 USD and I do not bother with frankens. They´re never going to feel like a gen.
nev848 0 Posted September 9, 2013 Holy crap Batman what's wrong with you..... $4k on a Rep even if Elvis made it with the help of Marilyn Monroe it would not be worth that. You can get a Gen Black Bay for that amount of corn.
ShovelnTC 31 Posted September 9, 2013 Please re-think this!!!! 4K for a rep .................madness!
ShovelnTC 31 Posted September 9, 2013 (edited) Is this the one? for 11k, http://rolexpassionm...apersref-71590/ imagine the response if someone here said that they spent even 3k for a rep sub! Edited September 9, 2013 by ShovelnTC
simey83 1,978 Posted September 9, 2013 You need your head checked if you're even entertaining the idea of dropping 4K on a rep!
honeybear 0 Posted September 9, 2013 Honestly, you would be much better off getting a gen Tudor Heritage Chronograph, and adding a cyclops to the crystal. At least the gen THC will have some resale value, and it is quite a visually faithful homage to the Monte Carlo.
Rolexwatchman 0 Posted September 9, 2013 No way anyone or yourself gonna buy it for 4000... only the stupid that buy it.

TheInthusiest 0 Posted October 5, 2013 I wouldnt. too much for a rep. Goes against my morals. (which are slowly deteriorating.)
trailboss99 994 Posted October 5, 2013 Meah, your money. If you want it bad enough and it's coin you can afford to spend why not? Lots of folk spend far more than that with Phong.
yawn 122 Posted October 5, 2013 I got some good discount and some freebie. And he fixed some flaws as I requested, so I m generally happy. Though it's a lots of money throwing on a rep, but I guess this is going to be my last purchase. (Hopefully)
