HWG 11 Posted September 17, 2013 Ok, a lot of us like to use paypal to pay for reps. There have been many threads on this before. I have dealt with a few M2M disputes lately, and things have not gone well for either the seller or the buyer. Here are some thoughts from me that will enable a buyer to keep his membership here, and how a buyer wont get scammed. (Its not foolproof, but it will help) Sellers: It is stated in the rules here (you know the page... where you click the box saying you read and understood the rules?) that payment by paypal gift is not acceptable. Other terms in paypal also are - sending payments to friends, payments owed, or gift. Requiring these as payment in your sales thread will get it nuked ASAP. It is NOT OK. Also, if you ask for this payment method via PM to a potential buyer, it is my hope that the buyer says no, reports the PM to admin, and you, the seller will be placed on No Sale status. Buyers: Never, ever pay via gift. Should something go wrong, and you want a chance at getting your funds back, pay as if you are buying goods. ONE MAJOR CAVEAT - LEAVE THE DESCRIPTION FIELDS BLANK. No mention of watch brands, web sites or anything. If something goes wrong, and you payed the right way, you have 45 days to file a dispute that may get your money back. Also note,a paypal dispute is a last resort option, as you should have had a mod involved before getting to this point. I'm done on the soapbox for now. All I want to do is help members here enjoy their hobby. I can not ever guarantee success in a M2M dispute, but following some of these tips above will help everyone.

HWG 11 Posted September 17, 2013 I know there are other threads about it here, but I just got another M2M dispute, and the seller told the buyer to pay as payment owed - seller gets no fees, buyer gets screwed if the seller is dishonest. No numpties applies all day every day, no?

Mazz 62 Posted September 17, 2013 Also be cautious if the buyer asks you to leave th cash in a brown paper bag in the men's room in the bus station It's probably Onze trying to lure you into a trap

houndoggie 58 Posted September 17, 2013 if the buyer has a concern that the seller will not know what the payment is for () I suggest the SELLER prompt the buyer with a code word in the note line such as: "big black dildo for granny", or "anal lube- 2 gallons", or "xbox game"
