AllergyDoc 40 Posted June 14, 2010 It has surrounds? Or are they painted surrounds? Who made that dial?
Brightlight 0 Posted June 14, 2010 That's sweet. I particularly like the dial and the bakelite look insert. NDT has a dial but the 'GMT Master' is in red which doesn't match with pics of gens I have seen, though I am in no ways an expert. You could maybe be picky about the sharpness and font of the lettering but it is damn good to my eyes.

sconehead 5 Posted June 15, 2010 What can I say Joey? I've been privvy to this project from the early stages and am aware of most of the hiccups you've encountered. Everytime a problem occured you always found a work around or a solution. This is the first time I've seen the watch in the 'flesh' and in my opinion you've done an excellent job, honestly, it's really excellent. What makes it even better to me is that this is your first attempt at modding and your attention to detail is equal to any of the 'paid' modders out there. I'm sure this will be the first of many mate and you haven't forgot that sharing your methods with the members here is what this forum is all about. There may be some who will say you should have vintaged the case/bracelet/crystal but I like your idea of letting it vintage on the wrist. My hat's off to you...you didn't do too bad...for a colonial that is...
