Jetpants 40 Posted April 1, 2017 Not a wristie but here's my latest seiko addition, the grurtle: That's a gorgeous piece! Thanks! Continuing seiko's tradition of "there's always one thing I'd change" i think it would be better with an all green bezel (like the blurtle) but being an LE i wont mod it to achieve it :)
Diver Dave 0 Posted April 8, 2017 (edited) On my wrist flying my MiG-15 over the Mojave Desert a month ago. I built this one up to wear while my usual Rolex was out for overhaul. I passed it on to another aviator after the Sea Dweller was returned overhauled. I did the mod to this one myself. These are darned good watches, certainly the best bang for the buck today. I use the bezel for fuel burn timing, which is critical when you're burning all of the gas out of the old jet in about an hour, and have four tanks to watch and pumps to manage. RussP 22,478 Posted April 8, 2017 Interesting shot and blurb. That cockpit interior looks well worn. How old is the jet? PS: Love the warning about switches in a foreign language.

Diver Dave 0 Posted April 8, 2017 Interesting shot and blurb. That cockpit interior looks well worn. How old is the jet? PS: Love the warning about switches in a foreign language. It's a Czechoslovakian built MiG-15 that was used by the Romanian Air Force. Built in 1958. It's a good old jet, I've got about 500 hours in this particular one. You can see the Czech writing on the gunsight. It's one of three that I operate. Good old girl. I spent six years teaching in it at the USAF Test Pilot School.
