Budda buddy... thanks for the backstory, sure is a looker!

A pogue variant ?  That dial is something else, haven't seen anything like that (if my memory serves me).

I'm on the hunt !

Thanks again for sharing

So I went to see my dad for his birthday and fathers day today and he gave me a present. His 21st birthday present, a Seiko Seahorse 6619-8020 day/date with seahorse engraving on caseback and original bracelet. Still working well. Now to find a new crystal.

I’d love to hear anything you guys know about it. Circa 1965 I believe. Automatic diashock 21 jewels.

I've got one very similar to this only mine has no Day date.  I bought it new in 1965 in Jersey, UK. Interestingly it says on the back that at it it is waterproof, something that would never be said in these days of of the trade descriptions act.  It is still going strong after all these years and has only been serviced once.   Well worth a look inside as the works are beautiful.  It is because of this watch that I've always had a soft spot for Seiko.  I currently have an alpinist SARB017.

I will definitely be having a look inside. Trying to source a new crystal currently which I will swap myself. I’m hoping to get brave enough to service it myself in the near future but need to get some cheap disposable movements under my belt first before I attempt movements I want to keep.

I don’t think this has ever been serviced and it’s still running strong.

It also says waterproof on the caseback and on the dial.

Yes, it's the "Jumbo TUNA Crown" from dragonshroud.com

Love it! Much easier to operate, extra length not an issue being at 4 o'clock. Looks cool too!
