Flipper81 0 Posted September 26, 2013 I have a bulova precisionist. I know it's quartz but it's 16beats a second, without doubt the smoothest movement I own. It's not everyone taste maybe but I love it and most complimented watch I wear.
James. 4 Posted September 26, 2013 Lots of Oris are at that price point, alternatively there's also heeeeeap of boutique divers as well, Halios, H2o, deep blue, You might even be able to pick up a Sinn. Then there's the Mazz option, which i'm sure he'll be by soon enough to tell you all about
James. 4 Posted September 26, 2013 ohhhh or MarckFC's Longines conquest!
framed 0 Posted September 26, 2013 Depends what kind of watch you're looking for I guess. My wife just bought me a black Bulova Accutron Kirkwood as a wedding gift - it's more dressy than I'd normally wear, but I guess that makes it nice for special occasions
fatarms 7,779 Posted September 27, 2013 Vintage FF That's a $10,000+ watch, dude.
NFleischer 4,355 Posted September 27, 2013 ohhhh or MarckFC's Longines conquest! Great idea for $800. I've been thinking of that myself.
reximda 0 Posted September 27, 2013 This'll spin your brain a bit. In a good way. http://www.watchrecon.com/?price_start=800&price_end=1200
fatarms 7,779 Posted September 27, 2013 This'll spin your brain a bit. In a good way. http://www.watchreco...&price_end=1200 That's the fourth time I've been there today with about $800-1200 limits on the search
reximda 0 Posted September 27, 2013 Watchrecon is a nasty habit of mine. Probably most folks here.
fatarms 7,779 Posted September 27, 2013 ohhhh or MarckFC's Longines conquest! I'm guessing that's in the M2M section? Is it the quartz version or automatic? That watch was actually on my list of possibilities.
reximda 0 Posted September 27, 2013 Here's a decent looking GMT auto... http://forums.watchu...gmt-920925.html duh... That's already sold
fatarms 7,779 Posted September 27, 2013 Ideally I'd like 42+mm. I like bigger watches, a sub looks ok on my wrist but I've sold every 40mm watch I've owned after deciding they were all too small. Wrist is about 7.5". I swear I saw a post in here that said someone got gen ETA's for about $500 or so? Is that even possible in gens?
fatarms 7,779 Posted September 27, 2013 Strong possibility: http://forums.timezo...d=0#msg_6616432 This thing is pretty impressive. Anyone have any experience with these?
yawn 122 Posted September 27, 2013 Vintage FF That's a $10,000+ watch, dude. Buy the phong version with gen movement, it costs about 900, get the Davidson handset and omega second hand (I m too lazy for that) + customized insert from rwg jr. (Forgot his name). You will have an almost identical blancpain FF for around 1200 dollar, the only tell would be the case back and bezel rim thickness.
kcawsey 0 Posted September 27, 2013 Strong possibility: http://forums.timezo...d=0#msg_6616432 This thing is pretty impressive. Anyone have any experience with these? They are 3k and yes are very nice. Accurate to 1 sec every 1000 yrs!
greg_r 81 Posted September 27, 2013 Christopher Ward C11 would be my first choice at that sort of price.
Stuvetjee 17 Posted September 27, 2013 AP mauntak and a Hub BB. Probably from M2M
Nnilswerdna 5 Posted September 27, 2013 The only gen I would ever buy would have to be un=reppable and decently priced.... Like the Ceramic Planet Ocean. I can't see the attraction in paying for an overpriced case with a standard ETA movement, funding certain watch companies laziness and greed, just for the label "GEN"
