RolexAddict 1 Posted January 14, 2009 "Noobmariner = Submariner from the "noob" factory" Explain, who and where is the "noob" factory" ? Josh Beginmariner ??? or another dealer ??? I have also another question : sorry if I am a stupid guy, BUT : What do you call a FRANKENWATCH ?????? I suppose its a rep watch with rep and gen parts mixed, right ???
alphakazi 0 Posted January 15, 2009 the beginnermariner and noobmariner are different - apparently the noob from the "noob factory" is the better of the 2 - from everything I read, the noob factory makes good stuff Frankenwatch is a mix of parts from different watches gen or rep to make something that doesn't exist - it can be all genuine parts from various similar models - you can see these on ebay sometimes being pawned off as a gen - which technically I suppose you can call it that if it's all gen parts but it would be a one of a kind and misleading
JohnG 41 Posted January 15, 2009 "Noobmariner = Submariner from the "noob" factory" Correct Explain, who and where is the "noob" factory" ? Don't know where it is or who runs it. Josh Beginmariner ??? or another dealer ??? Beginmariner is NOT a noob factory watch. Different watch. The Noob serial number is: F520117 What do you call a FRANKENWATCH ?????? I suppose its a rep watch with rep and gen parts mixed, right ??? Correct. Technically, my SSD is a franken, because it has a gen diver's extension.
trailboss99 997 Posted January 15, 2009 Chronograph is wrong. A chrono watch is one with stop watch functions. PVD is wrong. Plasma vapor deposistion There are no more noobmariners. Production has ceased. Those still advertising them are telling LWLs LWL = little white lies. Mistruths in the description of a watch. eg: synthic saphire usualy meens mineral glass, ETA movement when its a CN copy of an ETA MVT. MVT = movement Col. JohnG 41 Posted January 15, 2009 There are no more noobmariners. Production has ceased. Those still advertising them are telling LWLs Who says? TTK sells them and he had them before anybody. Eurotimez sells them. BK sells them. The F520117 serial case is the noob case (YM, Sub, GMT2, and Explorer II) and there are still plenty of people selling them. I have heard people say this before but I don't understand where they are getting this idea...
JohnG 41 Posted January 15, 2009 Chronograph is wrong. A chrono watch is one with stop watch functions. Also I don't understand this... A chronograph is a timepiece or watch with both timekeeping and stopwatch functions... that is pretty much the standard definition. Chrono is short of chronograph. And a chronometer is any precision timepiece.
trailboss99 997 Posted January 16, 2009 A chronograph is a timepiece or watch with both timekeeping and stopwatch functions... that is pretty much the standard definition. Chrono is short of chronograph. And a chronometer is any precision timepiece. And the listing says "see above" infering it is the sane as a Chronometer. Let me do some more checking on the other one.
