Sakdds300 52 Posted November 1, 2013 Grabbed this watch winder recently to keep the dress watch humming along during the week. I decided to put the everyday workhorse on the winder at night, as well, since I do not wear my watch at work and it can sit idle for 8 hours or more. I used to wind both watches each night before bed, to keep them running. After using the winder I noticed that my GMT II workhorse is gaining a few seconds a day, where before the winder it was spot on, after my equilibration on the hairspring. I prefer the winder so that I am not constantly unscrewing and screwing crowns with the need to hand wind the pieces. My question is, has anyone seen this type of effect on accuracy while using a watch winder?
LightGeek 25 Posted November 7, 2013 Accuracy also highly depends on the position. Perhaps in that position it's normal for that watch.
myaz 3 Posted November 7, 2013 Winder might also keep the watch wound closer to the maximum for longer periods of time versus being idle for 8 hours, affecting the power to the gear train.
