Any more info on this dealer/watch?

Hi guys,

Really sorry if this is the wrong place to ask questions but I looked at the list of trusted dealers and went to Time Shops website and saw the following watch:

http://www.timeshops.net/AP0411_-_AP_Tourb...c_2638-2597.htm

My questions are:

1. How can I find out if anyone here has reviewed this watch? Is it simply a case of going through the reviews forum and doing a search?

2. Does anyone know much about this watch from Time Shops?

Sorry if I am coming across cynical wrt the seller, it's not my intention, but I would like to know a little more about where I can find more information on a particular watch from a particular seller.

Btw, very nice of people to make the trusted sellers list, well done.

hello fiji. I do not know about the one from timeshops, but here is a review from Gran who recently received one from Mary. Probably the same watch. Hope this helps.

Hey thanks a lot for that. He said his watch probably loses +/- 15 seconds per day though

Guess thats expected from replicas.

The way you find out about a particular watch - if there isn't a review in the reviews section - is to do exactly what you've done and ask!

Anyhow, I'd avoid that one. Firstly, that's a faux tourby. It doesn't bear any resemblance to an AP gen and really just screams 'cheap fake' (that goes for the vast majority of these budget fake tourbys by the way).

Timesshop are a good seller - we're very careful about who we invite to have subforums here and they're all people we've bought from many times. That does not, however, mean that they don't sell junk occasionally - for some odd reason there's a market for it.

Do bear in mind that you will find a lot of the same watches at all the sellers (especially the better models). You also need to bear in mind that at this price level they're cheapies - there are a few really good watches around at this level, but there's also a lot of junk. Unless you go for quartz, you will not get working chronos (subdials) at this price. Much of the better quality stuff tends to be in the $2-300 price range...

It is most certainly NOT the same watch. Grans is a high-quality genuine tourbillon and was quite expensive. The one linked in this thread is a poor quality cheapie.

+/- 15 secs a day is darned good for ANY automatic watch - rep or gen - unless it's CoSC certified... If you want better accuracy than that, you need quartz.

Oops....sorry for the confusion. Did not even look at the price on the one from Timeshop. Thanks for clarifying G.

Figi---If I had the dough I would get one like Grans

Hey guys, thanks for the speedy responses! Aha, well I guess that just shows up my lack of knowledge of automatics. :)

Ok well I'll hunt around some more and carry on asking away.

Thanks again.
