sconehead 5 Posted July 9, 2010 Well, as some of you may know, I waited over 18 months for this puppy after placing a deposit on the first pre-order run from BK to save myself a few dollars. The watch should have originally cost $375 plus pp charges and shipping to the U.K. with the pre-order discount. The crystal was swapped out for a Clarks as the etched crown on the WM9 was too pronounced. The rehaut needed polishing up/refining by BK as they came a bit rough from the factory, also the crown tube needed replacing as the original was causing the bezel to foul the crown. I originally thought the crystal was swapped out at no charge, the rehaut polished up for +$20 and didn't even know about the tube mod until it was time to pay the balance. I was happy to cough up the extra though, which hyped the price to $480 all in, considering this watch will put you back $625+ at today's prices. It's powered by a creamy smooth gen ETA 2824 which to date gains between 1-2 secs a day, well within acceptable limits by a mile. Was it worth it? I'll let you be the judge... ...and finally
Eiderdaus 0 Posted July 9, 2010 That looks pretty good to me. How about the lume ? If you waited too long and decided now that you go for another watch, I´ll take her. Seriously but I think you won´t give that piece away anymore
AllergyDoc 40 Posted July 9, 2010 It's a beautiful piece! Don't you have the gen, though?
sconehead 5 Posted July 9, 2010 It's a beautiful piece! Don't you have the gen, though? Not an LV Doc...'tis but an urban myth, I own a gen 168000 Sub and a 45.5 mm PO, don't believe the hype... I wonder who started these rumors... @Eiderdaus...correct, it isn't for sale, I own two more rep LV's, an ETA powered noob and my first watch, a TWB which I modded...one day I may let the noob go but the others are keepers...I think... greg_r 81 Posted July 9, 2010 Great looking watch, Sconey. Glad it was worth the wait
RolexAddict 1 Posted July 9, 2010 The picture number 7. Thats the trick. But first, congrats scone, great, great watch. (I take advantage of this topic to thanks sconehead for his help. Thanks to him my Sub LV is alive) Here, crown guards are perfect. The picture number 7 shows something very important. The big difference between basic reps and these BK-WM9 series
dingle 57 Posted July 9, 2010 patience of Job you have..... nice one sconey......Your best rep yet?

skintrade 0 Posted July 9, 2010 Hi m8, looks well worth the wait, a beautiful piece.
sconehead 5 Posted July 9, 2010 Thanks for all the positive replies, it reinforces my thoughts on this watch, mighty close to gen. @RA, the crown position to bezel looks bang on to me, well spotted. @Eiderdaus, the lume is good on the WM9 LV. The mods I've done on my TWB to date include, 1. fitting gen crown and tube. 2. shaving crown guards (think I overdid them a bit though) 3. fitting noob dial and datewheel 4. fitted gen black insert, a mod some gen owners have done. 5. installed gen ETA nickel plated 2836-2 movement ...here's a pic of the three LV's I own,
Eiderdaus 0 Posted July 9, 2010 niiiiiiiiiice buddy, you have done the modds all by yourself ? is it me eyes or do the LV green bezels got different colors ? the watch on the right is the noobmariner right ? you changed the pearl there ?
sconehead 5 Posted July 9, 2010 niiiiiiiiiice buddy, you have done the modds all by yourself ? is it me eyes or do the LV green bezels got different colors ? the watch on the right is the noobmariner right ? you changed the pearl there ? Yep, the colours are different. I believe the shade on the WM9 is correct for a Z-serial. The gens do have different shades depending on the serial/year of manufacture. The noobs pearl is the original and correct, it's on the right...
Eiderdaus 0 Posted July 9, 2010 alright, you haven´t done any modds on the noob ? what would you say if you compare the latest wm9 and the noob ? only externals. sorry again the question, you modded yourself ?
sconehead 5 Posted July 9, 2010 Yes, I did all the mods myself. The noob is a good rep, the best deal for the money bar none. It'll fool 99.9% of people. Compared to the WM9, by me anyway ( I'm an anal 0.01% type person ) there is no comparison...
RolexAddict 1 Posted July 9, 2010 absolutly great, I like the maxi dial/hands with a clasic black insert philosophy, I mean, an LV with a black insert style, classic, basic Subs are just anoying, like basic Panerai, just for yuppies and posers
Fiddo 0 Posted July 9, 2010 Very Nice! Can I have it?
