bigbossa 0 Posted July 13, 2010 Hi all Is it worth upgrading to a asian copy 2836 from a 21j ?. I already have a noobmariner (and love it) but I have just seen an offer for a noob factory (latest ) sub with a choice of movements and am tempted to buy. Member X 91 Posted July 13, 2010 Definitely - direct drive seconds hand, less stuttering', higher beat rate, more accuracy to gen watches (unless it's lowbeat vintage Rollie lol)

Brightlight 0 Posted July 13, 2010 Yes, totally agree, it's really a no-brainer. The ETA movement, even if it is a clone, is much better and it can be serviced and repaired if things go wrong. The Swiss ETAs go on for ever, so hopefully, if serviced, the asian ones should do as well. It's also a very easy movement to work on once you know your way around it. It is however not worth paying extra for a 'Swiss' ETA as, if you actually get a Swiss ETA, you are likely to get a used one.

JohnG 41 Posted July 13, 2010 The ETA copy is a better movement, but other than rep forum nerds, you are HIGHLY unlikely to bump into anyone that would notice a slower beat or the stutter of the 21j. I used to be pro high end, now I am pro cheapy, especially where you get the same case as the ETA or ETA clone model.

Didn't work with my wife - "But I've already got a watch, why would I want another one....?" Hmm. Does she say that about her shoes, clothes, jewelry, and purses too? If she does, I'd have her DNA checked to she if she's really female.
