My first Gen: Omega Speedmaster Professional :D

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share my first Gen with you guys and how I've worked my magic with it ;)

I wanted to purchase one in baddish condition (cheaper) and Refinish it all myself to look as new.

So here's the results after many hours sanding, re-brushing, re-polishing, Crystal refurbishing, Cleaning and fitting a lovely aftermarket caseback so you can see the Cal 1861 18 Jewelled beauty in action.

Here's the ebay pics for the one I purchased: (as you can see not in great condition (loads of scratches, little dings, bad crystal, and a scuff to clasp)

And here's after the refurb:

Could do with straightening a few brush lines on the clasp for a perfect finish.

Here's before the Display back (refinished this caseback anyways)

And here's with the new aftermarket display back :D

Wow! The refinish that you did on this watch is fantastic and the clear back looks very good. Also where is the rotor? (my n00b question for the day)

Thank you, There is no Rotor on the Cal 1861 ;) Its a manual wind. Power reserve is 48 hours, I have just been winding daily.

Excellent mate. Great photos and it looks the business. Lot of hard work there. Nice after market case as well! My gen on Di Modell Chronissimo Black Leather says hello!

I always think the Omega reps look great untill I see the gen, then it's like... there's just no comparison.

+1 on that, I have both rep and gen. The rep I have is with the Lemania movement and display back, which I may put up for sale later on :) its a corker even though it isn't the most accurate.
