Thanks for all the compliments guys. I knew shooting watches was different than people, but I didn't expect it to be as tough as it was. I learned the hard way why it is best to use a photo tent :D

In total I shot about 11GB worth of images in the course of 6 hours and spent about 2 hours in photoshop but couldve spent a couple more.

How I did it below

Setup:

I shot with a Canon 5DII on a tripod at the kitchen table with three sb28's triggered with PW's.

The watch was placed on a drinking glass near the base (lower right corner of image). The glass had air bubbles in the glass.

I snooted one sb28 with a dark aqua gel and shot it at 1/4 power through the open area of the glass, (upper left hand corner of image)

you can see the edge of a napkin I placed under the glass in the upper left corner aswell.

A second was sb28 zoomed to 24mm also gelled aqua about an inch from the base of the drinking glass.

A third sb28 shot at full power was gelled 1/2 cto and snooted with aluminum foil to focus on dial only.

A fourth sb28 was gelled 1/2 cto and was bounced of a white foamcore reflector to the left side of the frame.

White foamcore 16x24 was used to the left, top, and bottom of the frame, the right side was left open to get the black reflection from 12oclock to 2oclock on the bezel and shot with tungsten whitebalance to deepen the richness of the blues.

Photoshop:

Adjusted WB (whitebalance) in RAW processing.

Increased saturation of blues in background and removed some blue from the watch.

Dodge and Burned watch.

Color correction on the second hand and Yachtmaster text.

Added Lume.

Pushed in Crown.

Cropped Image slightly to bring watch more to the right.

Sharpened and Saved for web.
