mondeov6 0 Posted July 24, 2010 Hi, I am sitting here pondering over a "small problem"..... What would you do?? I promised my brother in law a nice present for helping me with welding job on my Mondeo. Mind you.. he is doing a really great job of it too!! And don´t really want any payment at all. For me that is out of the question! Of course I must pay him in some way. I bought an Omega Speedmaster from TS thinking that would be the perfect payment. It is really nice and has the "Lemania" movement wich, by the way I have learned here really is not a true Lemania but more of a clone Lemania...."Clemania" B) ... perhaps.. Thing is.. the more I look at it the more I want it for myself! It is such a beautiful watch!! Another option is to give him a few bottles of fine Whisky... one of them is a Jameson 1780 wich I know he likes a lot. So do I keep the watch and watch the time pass by possibly for many years to come or.. ... do I enjoy some great Whisky and eventually end up looking at some empty bottles?? What would you do? Vector 0 Posted July 24, 2010 Give him the Mondeo . Get tipsy . Keep the watch .
mondeov6 0 Posted July 24, 2010 LOL gyus ... you sure have some good tips and suggestions for me! Maybe I should give him the watch, keep the whisky and sell the Mondeo. Then I can buy myself 24 cans of beer and a bunch of new watches! But seriously... I think I will keep the watch and buy him another one. Is the "Lemania wanna be" movement reliable and well made? I.e is it a good timekeeper that hopefully will last for some time? Anyone have some knowledge/experience of this Omega? Thank´s a lot for your input! Baldrick 1 Posted July 24, 2010 Yes, it's a very good mov't used in a lot of reps, and the watch is beautiful, I had a steel speedy with the same mov't for a long time before passing it on!
pollux1 3 Posted July 24, 2010 @Baldrick do you know of anyone who would have one of those for sale?

Thank´s for helping a newbie/rep illiterate Baldrick! Good to hear from someone far more experienced than myself. Makes me even more sure of keeping it. The SS Speedmaster looks very nice in the pictures. Are those pictures you own? They are really GREAT pictures! Rolf

apoopoo999 0 Posted July 25, 2010 I wish someone would make the 12 hour subdial fully functional in that movement
Baldrick 1 Posted July 25, 2010 @Baldrick do you know of anyone who would have one of those for sale? Narikaa used the same suppliers as TTK, perhaps he may be able to help! Unfortunately they're not mine, they belong to a long gone dealer TTK, I have access to his stock of photos and post a lot of them, because I like them, as you can see from KBH's post, there is a popular conspiracy theory that I am TTK, because I post so much of his stuff and because I take the odd photo that emulates his style, the reason for that is that I spent a lot of time on Skype with TTK. sharing stories, jokes and with me asking advice and learning how to take photos, we're both Scottish, with similar wit, so got on very well, it's only natural that members latch onto any conspiracy theory that pops up, I get a kick and a laff out of it

mondeov6 0 Posted July 25, 2010 I wish someone would make the 12 hour subdial fully functional in that movement But at least it looks ok twice in a 24 hour period! ..... No I agree.. it would be nice with a proper function of the subdial. Other than that I think the watch is awsome! Rolf
