Chronograph 0 Posted July 28, 2010 Hello all! I stumpled across this site while researching replicas99 to see if they were legit. Luckily I found this site and found they are a scam. Glad I found this place with all the scam sites out there these days. I am pretty much a total watch newbie. I did own one Bvlgari knock off like 10 or 11 years ago that I bought off of yahoo auctions back in the day when they were around and people were selling a lot of reps on there. Since then though, I just used my phone for time, but have grown to miss wearing a watch recently. As you can tell from my name, I like the chronograph type watches. Maybe you can help me out right away with a question...do the cheaper asian automatic replicas have fully functiong chronographs? Would I need top get a higher end replica to get a working chronograph, or does it just depend on the watch? Thanks! I hope to learn a lot here, and eventually purchase a couple reps once I know some of the ins and outs.
Baldrick 1 Posted July 28, 2010 Welcome Maybe you can help me out right away with a question...do the cheaper asian automatic replicas have fully functiong chronographs? Would I need top get a higher end replica to get a working chronograph, or does it just depend on the watch In general if you want a fully operational 'AUTOMATIC' chronograph, you will have to go for a higher end 7750 movement equipped watch, a lower end fully functioning chronograph will usually be quartz, sometimes with the exact same case, but slightly different in terms of dial / sub-dial layout. trailboss99 996 Posted July 28, 2010 Hey there Chrono, welcome. Like Balders said, to get a mechanical chrono you need to spend 300+ The cheapies are 21j MVTs (movements) and do not have chrono function. These are usually described by the dealer as "fully functioning day, date and 24hr time sub dials" That does NOT mean chrono! The other option is get a quartz model. This is especially attractive if the gen came in quartz such as the Tag F1 or it has no seconds hand to give the game away like the SLR. Do a bit of reading thru the review sections and you will soon come to understand what it is you want. Col.
Luthier 1 Posted July 28, 2010 Hey there Chrono, welcome.Like Balders said, to get a mechanical chrono you need to spend 300+ Col. Don't scare a guy away, Col., we can buy $220-$240 chronos from some of our trusted dealers, like Mary and Robert. Good Breitling, for example, or even Daytona.... trailboss99 996 Posted July 28, 2010 No such thing as a good daytona Luith. Not for a noob anyway. That sec@6 is not a good place to start collecting. You are right however, there are some under 300 worth having. Col.
Luthier 1 Posted July 28, 2010 When I said Daytona, I mean seconds @9. And I've heard new A7750 in Tonas are quite good now.
