ellistyle1 0 Posted March 15, 2014 I sold one of the Tissot. 12 will be a good number. I think I can hold it there.
ellistyle1 0 Posted March 23, 2014 Added an Explorer 1016. Anyone want to help me mod it? I want it to look like this:
millionaire wannabe 1 Posted March 23, 2014 I too, have a collection of the Harvard Classics. Similar red binding, a little less fancy looking and certainly not photogenic. Complete collection from the 50's I think it is. Sadly, there's no watches in mine! Only words! Lol. Good storage idea though.

Complete collection from the 50's I think it is. Sadly, there's no watches in mine! Only words! Lol. Good storage idea though. It was one of those super geeky projects that took too much time, was a little embarrassing and probably wasn't worth it in the end. And i destroyed some good literature. I was in my workshop making it and I looked up to find my wife just standing in the doorway shaking her head at me. I am vindicated and feel like James Bond when I pull out a watch to wear for the day.

HeavyKrush 16 Posted May 2, 2014 You have a lot of turnover in your collection mate.
ellistyle1 0 Posted May 2, 2014 You have a lot of turnover in your collection mate. I got this nutty idea in my head once I hit 12 watches that I could put together a perfect collection (perfect for me). Part of it is my tastes have changed, part is fewer can mean better quality among them if I play it right and part is my rate of acquisition is unsustainable. The rest is I enjoy searching, researching, mulling over options and buying better than just having watches. I'm weird--I may even enjoy looking at wristcheck threads better than wearing my own watches.
Chanelton 0 Posted May 2, 2014 what kind of display case do you have?
ellistyle1 0 Posted May 2, 2014 what kind of display case do you have? It's a $45 special from Amazon. Holds 10. I also built a concealed case inside of a set of books.

ellistyle1 0 Posted May 3, 2014 Proud Pappa, nice, nice hard back collection as well! I was pretty proud of the idea. My execution could have been better. Then I kind of felt guilty about destroy classic books....
ellistyle1 0 Posted May 7, 2014 Added the Autodromo Prototipo and Tissot Visodate compressor Wrist alarm is on the block (and perhaps the seastar soon)
ellistyle1 0 Posted June 13, 2014 Ebayed the Stars (Seastar and the Orient Star)
ellistyle1 0 Posted June 29, 2014 Updated. Seastar Came back in a sour ebay deal, but I'm happy to have her. I need to find some maintenance for her though. I also got rid of my box.
ellistyle1 0 Posted July 27, 2014 I sold the 1016. It is a great watch, but for some reason it didn't click with me. I felt a bit conspicuous or something in spite of it being one of the more inconspicuous Rolex models. I kept the strap that McJules put together though. We'll see what that lands on. Tissot Visodate Compressor is at the watch smith. Eager to get it back. The Tissot Seastar and Bulova Wrist alarm are on the block. I am still working out my perfect collection and cannot have watch box competition.
