Spinmaster's Daytonas - a good buy?

I'm loving these:

and he's just listed a white dial one today.

 

 

Are they a good buy? $600 seems quite a lot but then he does appear to be doing decent work on them...

Depends on whether or not the extra $400 over the cost you pay DW on eBay is worth it for the rebuilt movement and other touchups that Spinmaster performs.

The removal of the autowinder and servicing of the movement is nice, I think I'd like that, and he did a good job with the vintagising of the white one on the first page of posts.

 

I wish I could do my own work :beer2: lol

 

 

Still, tools arrive soon so be scared, little watches, be scared... :D

Initially, I have not found the DW watches to be that high in quality. I have made a couple of nice watches from DW cases, dials from others etc. Putting together your own can probably get you something of similar quality....possibly for a lower cost. The Spinmaster seems to be a good choice if you aren't into building your own.

I've also heard DW's assembled watches can be troublesome and dial quality is all over the place.

yep..DW's Daytona's are far from great built quality

but then again...I might be vintage built quality...
