P_Diddy 0 Posted July 30, 2010 where can you get batteries for quartz watches cheaply in the UK/world? Are the batteries used by manufacturers 'special' as they seem last for years and years but the high st jewellers last only for a 2 years max!
king_o 0 Posted July 31, 2010 I usually get batteries off that very well known auction site............................

P_Diddy 0 Posted July 31, 2010 the batteries used in quartz watches, are they generally the same size? ie a Tag quartz mens Diver, would it use same size as mens Omega Seamaster quartz diver? thanks
pollux1 3 Posted July 31, 2010 +1 what Greg and offshore said, personally I'd stick to trailboss 'cos he'll get you a quality one, ebay's a bit hit and miss unless you know exactly what you want quality wise.
narikaa 129 Posted July 31, 2010 As with everything you will pay more for branded quality (VARTA etc) But for simple expediency / economics just go to a UK '£ shop' and get a big blister pack card full with all the conversion numbers on the back 30 or so assorted batteries (& idiots guide) for a quid does it really matter if they only last two years . trailboss99 996 Posted July 31, 2010 Very rarely will you get more than two years from a battery mate. Nope, there are about 30 common sizes with the most common being the SR626SW other wise known as the 377. This accounts for 75% of watches. Col.
robbnj 0 Posted July 31, 2010 (edited) My AD puts in fresh battery, replaces the caseback seal, greases it & closes it up for $6 US. Maybe that's 'cuz I told him I just wanted to buy a gasket & could do the rest myself... Edited July 31, 2010 by robbnj
P_Diddy 0 Posted July 31, 2010 The AD changed battery on my gen JLC [non chrono] The battery has lasted up to 6 years previously, last battery change was Jul 2006 and the watch is still running. what 'type' of batteries do AD use? thanks Very rarely will you get more than two years from a battery mate.Nope, there are about 30 common sizes with the most common being the SR626SW other wise known as the 377.
