panto 0 Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) Hello, I have a couple of questions, hopefully someone can help me. I bought a Vintage sea dweller off Angus/ Puretime and was wondering how the bezel is so post to be, mine is kind of free moving but seems to get hung up sometimes, kind of gritty feeling, like its rubbing to much on the case. greg_r 83 Posted August 5, 2010 Behaviour of the movement as you've described sounds completely normal. It does, however, sound like the bezel is looser than it should be. Maybe one of our other members who has experience of this particular model will be able to chime in and advise further.
panto 0 Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) yeah it looks like the bezel doesn't sit on the case perfectly maybe thats why? I did have it water tested to 330 meters and it past! I hate to send it back just for that... time is off a bit, when I first got it it was 1 min. fast every day now its 30 secs and its only been 2 weeks. greg_r 83 Posted August 5, 2010 It's easy enough to get a movement regulated - even some gens will be out 30 secs a day. Personally I wouldn't worry about it, but any watchsmith should be able to regulate it for you if it bothers you (just make sure they're happy to work on reps first). I'm not familiar with that particular watch so I don't know whether the sloppy bezel is a standard weakness of that particular model or whether you have a worse than usual sample. Hopefully someone else on here will have a better idea...
GC 4,524 Posted August 5, 2010 As soon as mine comes in I will let you know about the bezel and movt... I haven't seen any of these watches posted by members since they were released, except in the "Sub Shoot Out" on RWI by Col.

KBH 7 Posted August 5, 2010 The bezel assembly is 3 pieces plus the insert. The first retaining ring has to be pressed tight down against the case or the bezel will be too loose. Then there is a brass pressure washer that comes next, followed by the bezel. Then the bezel insert is installed. At least that's how I remember it. (It's been a while since I had it apart.) Also, there are no clicks and it turns bi-directional.
trailboss99 996 Posted August 5, 2010 Your watchsmith can test to 330m? Lucky lad, I wish I could. Sounds like KBH has the answer there mate, it's bezel off and readjust the retaining ring. It's not that hard to do, there is a post here somewhere telling you how, I bet KBH knows where it is, if not Ding will find it This is one of his ultimate vintage SDs or just the normal one? Col. KBH 7 Posted August 5, 2010 It just lifts/pries off. Start with a razor blade and work your way around it slowly. According to another post, the PT version is slightly different in that it has a gasket around the bottom of the crystal. The earlier cartel model didn't, but that shouldn't make much difference. You will need to find something to press it back on with though.

panto 0 Posted August 7, 2010 (edited) Could I use ether of these to open and close the case back for this model? keep in mind that I tested the water proofing on this watch and its was good to 33 ATM, 330 meters. I want to keep it like that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT Edited August 7, 2010 by panto
