Aren 27 Posted February 24, 2014 Eu I apologize not tracking but notice of shipment why didnt you go for the clear caseback. or the black one?? it was extra 30 EURO for clear caseback + if you have nato band, you don't see caseback so why bother. And gen in 1963 had solid caseback also. The black one I hate PVD coated watches I think this watch is stunning. The dial is amazing and very easy to read. This is very important to me in any watch. I normally like a clear caseback. I enjoy seeing the movement. Trailboss' watch has the clear caseback. It would take some adjusting to that caseback for me, since it has red text on the clear caseback. I find this watch to be lovely, however, the text on the caseback makes it harder for me to see the movement. Perhaps if I was looking at the actual watch it would look clearer and easier for me. Now that I remove casebacks I don't feel there is a mystery inside that I am missing. I still love to look at the movement. Congrats to all of you who bought this lovely watch. Great article of Col's watch from last Sept. Nice write up and photos. Wish I had seen it then. I enjoyed coming back to take a better read of this thread. I particularly like the ST19 movement, which I recently had occasion to research. Glad I got to return to study this thread since I didn't have enough time to really enjoy it at the time I first saw it. It is great to have the opportunity to appreciate reading about the history of this watch. This is a great thread with lots of good info and nice photographs. Thanks for sharing KenNy, Trailboss, Imibcn and other contributors.
Mazz 62 Posted February 24, 2014 One of the most beuatiful subtal dials on any watch ive ever seen Up there with either my Grand Seiko SBGR031 dial or the green dial on my old Seiko Landmaster Sagarmatha SBCW021 Very glad I bought it thanks for the tip Kenny :kenny:
trailboss99 996 Posted February 24, 2014 Told you so mate, that dial is the equal of that in a watch 20 or more times the price, it's truly amazing. It's the watch I wear probably 90% of the time now and has been since it arrived.
Mazz 62 Posted February 24, 2014 wears very nicely..........................just worried about the plexi though im a bit rough on watches

flieger123 0 Posted February 28, 2014 Thanks, I really like the combo. I know it's a military watch, but it's seriously an elegant piece. Suits leather just as much a nato.

Mazz 62 Posted April 20, 2014 http://www.longislandwatch.com/Seagull_1963_Airforce_Watch_s/1903.htm Some new versions coming out.......................a 42mm and personally that panda looks awesome and sapphire instead of the plexi
trailboss99 996 Posted April 20, 2014 Hmm, plexi is tougher than Sapphire. Mat I have worn mine thru just about everything and the plexi is still intact.

JSJ 0 Posted April 21, 2014 Easter Monday? Pray tell? Day after Easter Sunday. Public Holiday here in the UK and most if not all of Europe. And Hong Kong according to at least one ebayer I'm buying from.
WebWind 1 Posted April 21, 2014 Easter Monday? Pray tell? Not only public holiday. This day is connected with one very old tradition. We are also visiting friends and family and of course ( or like always in Slovakia) you don't want to ashame your family and friends so you drink what they serve and be sure they serve a lot of alcoholic drinks of many kinds ( home made alcohol is 50% and higher). So this day sometimes very hard to survive

mysterio 18 Posted April 25, 2014 What's with the writing on the bottom part? There are two dial versions, one with one line text and another one with two lines. What's the difference with the watch itself aside from the lettering?
