muhdhadi91 0 Posted February 15, 2014 Hello guys, I need some advice here. I am planning to buy a rolex sub-c. Should I buy the bp 2316 28800bph or the asian 2836 28800bph movement? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each movement? What are your experience with the 2316 high beat movement? What is your opinion? Thanks

muhdhadi91 0 Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) 2836 all the way for me Thanks man!. Can you 'feel' the difference between 2836 and the cheaper 2813 movement? I have 3 reps but they are all the cheap 21j movement. Edited February 15, 2014 by muhdhadi91

SSTEEL 0 Posted February 16, 2014 Sadly this kind of question is becoming more frequent due to the factories using an inferior movement instead of a real ETA or clone 2836-2. At least from your TD of choice you have an option. 2836-2 I would go for, but that being said, you never know what you will get in there.

<RJ> 0 Posted May 6, 2014 2836 all the way for me Thanks man!. Can you 'feel' the difference between 2836 and the cheaper 2813 movement? I have 3 reps but they are all the cheap 21j movement. Its very much a matter of quality in assembly. That is if they manage to actually put the correct movement in there. But when im comparing the 2316 ive had with the 2836 its a noticable difference. But then again. Different "factories", different workers etc. can make a huge difference.
fatarms 7,777 Posted May 7, 2014 Am I missing something? I've never heard of a 2316 movement. I honestly have no idea what we are comparing here.
k3rm87 180 Posted May 7, 2014 Neither? Just blue or green so it seems. Go with what you like, who cares what anyone else thinks? it's on your wrist.
Daywatch 4 Posted May 8, 2014 Between the 2813 (21j) and the 2836 there is a noticeable difference, the 2836 feels better. The 2813 seconds stutter more if You look close (even the highbeat one), the 2836 runs smoother. 2813 rotor may swing and make the rotor noise, 2836 feels much smoother and the rotor stops after the swing which gives a quality feel. Winding and setting time should feel more "solid" on the 2836. Pricewise it gets prohibitive very fast and I like variety so I also buy the 2813 and have really very good ones among them. But You definitely have to try out a 2836.
JSJ 0 Posted May 8, 2014 Always the black one for me.
kenton23 8 Posted May 9, 2014 Blue. Or black. I don't really like the green. Don't judge me : )
muhdhadi91 0 Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) What do you guys think of dg4814 movement?I have a problem with it. My watch(dg4813) will always stop at 11pm++ before the date is changed even after wearing the whole day. Is it the same as the 2813 high beat movement? pazuzu 12 Posted August 25, 2014 I got the 2813 Hi Beat but with hindsight I would have got the 2836. I've got a 2836 in different Rolex and prefer it. Cheers, Phil
hardwareking 0 Posted November 2, 2014 I would choose a 2836 in green
flatpopely 0 Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) I have a Noob V5 Sub C 116610LN with the Asian 2836-2 clone movement bought from the TD ToroBravo (great service BTW). Until I (cough) managed to dislodge the key-less works I got it regulated to only gain 2 secs a day and the date change was bang on midnight, I mean really bang on. Manually winding it felt no different to winding the genuine ETA 2836-2 movement in my Tissot VISODATE. It's currently with Nick of this parish and he is going to service the movement, fit a thinner crystal bezel and check the seals etc. I can't wait to get it back as mine is a particularly good example with the usual QC issues not present. The SEL fitment and bracelet finish are superb! I'll post loads of pics when I get it back. Edited February 17, 2016 by flatpopely
