1675 Dial - the horror

Recommended Posts

Been following RA's threads very closely as I am restoring an old (1975ish) gen 1675 and trying to build a rep at the same time.

The dial was beyond repair, so I sent it out to be 'professionally' refinished.

Here's what it originally looked like...

This is a cleaned up scan of the original...

Well, $165 and 6 weeks later, this is what I got back...

To say the least, I'm pissed. The rep dial with Oyster Perpetual Date looks way better than this!

WTF? Looks like a 3rd grader did the lume. And that's not even the same dial you sent them.

Who fucked that up so bad?

you have been officially fucked. Now sale it on RG for $3000 and buy another one :)

EDIT: just noticed the "gmt-master" is not centered either. maybe they took your dial and sold it on RG for $3000 and sent you back the bullshit.

Hate to say this but it looked better before they refinished it.

You should have left it alone - you have to pay big $$$ to make a new dial look that way!
