Robin195959 2 Posted February 21, 2014 My oldest is an Omega originally bought by my great-grandfather in 1914 (so it's exactly 100 years old this year...:-). Porcelain dial and mvmt still works a charm, although the PR is somewhat....restricted...:-) Very apt centenary it's shares with the Great War

J!m 289 Posted February 21, 2014 1925 Hamilton... Classy!! Love the fob. Another brand with a great history. Thanks! It was my Grandfathers and it had a huge medalion on the strap that I took off years ago... It had no crystal when I got it and did not run. I had it overhauled about 12-15 years ago now and it still runs perfect when I wind it up. I used this watch at my wedding.
mrtsumoto80 0 Posted February 21, 2014 Well this watch was gave to me by my dad but he is taking good care of it for me.It's an Omega Speedmaster Mark III from 1971, powered by the legendary 1040 movement. Thing is that as you can see needs a new crystal I have been for years thinking about fix everything on it or selling it. I'd hold on to it. It can only grow in value. Not to mention sentimental value. You are probably right, anyway and I hope in many many more years, I will receive from my dad besides this Speedmaster three more lovely Gens. A Omega Deville, Rolex Explorer II and Rolex GMT Master Root Beer Two tone.

Robin195959 2 Posted February 22, 2014 Stunning watches. Are any of you lovely PW owners a member of the NAWCC member? Pocket Horology Chapter? Hi Aren, Great idea. I guess most people here are like me with just the one( mine isn't even a full one) I'm also in the uk so NAWCC not an option for me. I did buy my daughter a early 19th century fob( pendant ) watch for her 16th birthday.

She's in Russia at the moment and doesn't live with me so I don't have it to click. I'm grateful for your interest though and will do so when she's back(may). It's a pretty little thing. Many lovely Pendant pocket watches were produced for ladies. It seems like PW are becoming more expensive. I love the simple micro-mechanics of the movements and appreciate the large size so that I can see the movements without too many complications. Some antique PW only have one jewel, but those a rare. I have 4 jewel watches and up and need to take some photos. Sadly, my photos are terrible, and I can't do justice to a watch. Speaking of Russia, the Russians produced a PW with no jewels at all to help prevent wear of contacting surfaces. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocket_watch Incredible isn't it?
