gB. 0 Posted August 10, 2010 UN kind of Tuesday. This one just arrived today via M2M sale from my Aussie friend Nick (aka k3rm87). B) Don't think this is leaving my wrist anytime soon. True wristy shot straight on with indirect light. Notice the dark blue hands and markers (almost appear black)... Now same shot with a little tilt and direct sunlight. Notice the change to light blue metallic color on the hands and markers. Nice...
Chronograph 0 Posted August 10, 2010 Hey guys, how is the lume on those UNs? It looks like there is a lot of lume material in there, and I know the gens are insanely bright and vivid. Wondering about how the reps lume is. Also, from the pics of the reps I have seen, the dials look kind of off white, not bright white like the gen. Is this a correct statement? Anyone done a side by side in person? Thanks.

I'm not a UN gen expert or 1:1 queen, so will leave that to others to discuss. All I know is this UN rep is one of the higher quality reps I now own, and is better overall quality than any of my "noob factory" made subs or SD watches. I think Nick needs to have his head checked for letting this one go, and at the ridiculous price he gave me.BTW, this is a wrist check thread, so where's your wristy shot chrono...? Ska 11 Posted August 10, 2010 AT That is an AMAZING wrist shot - one of the best I've ever seen. Wow!!! this a damn great photo!!! Sorry for the off-topic but I need to ask: did you use a macro 1:1 lense? No worries mate. No I didn't use a prime macro lens for these shots (although I do have one - a Sigma 50mm f1.4) I didn't have that with me at the time so I just used the stock Nikkor VR 18-55mm f2.5 lens which came with the D40 and a couple of cheap macro extension lenses I bought a while back which IMO work brilliantly. I think they cost me about £8 on Ebay. The real key to shots like this more than the camera is lighting. G.Curcio and Silverspeed take breathtaking photographs using point and shoot Cameras. Proper lighting is essential and something you just need to experiment with endlessly. Hope this helps.

gB. 0 Posted August 11, 2010 This UN from M2M sale is still on my wrist after receiving yesterday, although I notice that after 24 hours it is losing several minutes (normally I see these movements gain seconds per day)... It still looks great though! True wristy shot straight on with indirect light. Notice the dark blue hands and markers (almost appear black)... Now same shot with a little tilt and direct sunlight. Notice the change to light blue metallic color on the hands and markers. Nice...

Tressles61 0 Posted August 11, 2010 ....so right now it's just used as a bracelet? Sure it's missing a few pieces here and there, but getting closer every week.

NFleischer 4,355 Posted August 11, 2010 The BK Blue ceramic sub, very nice except the Noob SEL's tend to be kinda round. I'm really becoming a WIS
NFleischer 4,355 Posted August 11, 2010 Great watch, envisagevi - I have the same model. Love it. Why don't you take it to a watchsmith who works on reps. A cheap simple adjustment should help.

mondeov6 0 Posted August 12, 2010 My latest addition and my first mesh....got this one in the mail today so it is on for the evening. Quite cheap 21j but looking good to me! Crappy pics.... Rolf
greg_r 81 Posted August 12, 2010 hehe - I've got one of those. Not really that much like the gen, but what the hell - it's still quite a nice looking watch and the dial's much better than the older 21J versions. The fake 'mesh' bracelet is fun too
mondeov6 0 Posted August 12, 2010 No surprises here: Woooow!!! Fantastic pictures!!!!! They almost look 3D! Rolf Thurs...(because I wore the DRSD yesterday and didn't tell anyone!) Another stunning picture!! Amazing!! Rolf

The fake 'mesh' bracelet is fun too Well from what I can figure out the dial and bezel colour are slightly "wrong". And maybe there are a couple of other minor issues. It looks good to me though!... Well anyway I like it and as you said... it is a nice looking watch. Ohhh.. and the bracelet is sooo nice and shiny!! Rolf
