Argh!!! The crown and/or tube is stripped on my beloved 1680. Have PM'ed a couple TD's with no success. Anyone have a spare or a suggestion PM me or post here.

PM'd.

I've got one from a Josh 5513 that you're welcome to have. I think it's the same one.

Have you tried Adrian from Athaya Vintage?

I just picked up a 1680 702 Crown and a tube from him for $35, here's his email address.

[email protected]

Hope this helps HK :)

Anyone know the thread size as it didn't quite fit my case last time? I'd like to get the proper tap and re-thread it.

It is an odd size used by Rolex- the reps usually use the "standard" metric thread. Ran into that with my 5512 project, but the 1680 went right in...

As far as I know, the tap has to come from a watch supplier house, not the industrial suppliers, because the industrial suppliers only have the standard pitch.

But after all that I dont have the right size and pitch handy to tell you.

PS you can't re-tap the case, because you will rip all the threads out- they are the same diameter but different pitch.
