jimsusan 1 Posted March 7, 2014 Definately rep. The serial number does not exist. Serial for 1978 is 5482000 I think this watch could be doubtful also. However, the serial no's for Rolex for 1978 range from 5,400,000 through to 5,850,000 so the advertised no. of 5,635xxx appears to be right. If the watch is a dud the seller has gone to the trouble of quoting a correct ref.no.
stevok2305 1 Posted March 7, 2014 The fucker's got another one at £3200 buy it now under a different account.. Slightly different description but still a false serial!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rolex-GMT-Master-1675-/181342009353?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item2a38d37809

Martinjogs 0 Posted March 7, 2014 What I don't understand is why they can't be arsed to take nice photos. Selling expensive watches but no close up shots, so as a punter I'm not going to drop a wedge of cash on a watch I can't even see properly. Hell, even I take better pics of my reps with my iPad. jerkstore 14 Posted March 7, 2014 Something fishy going on here... The dial looks gen to me. So do the crownguards and case back. But pic 4 from this one: http://bit.ly/1cIBsjh Is the same as pic 1 here: http://bit.ly/1g6LDCD And the bracelets are also mixed up. Pic 2 from the cheap sale seems to have an oyster bracelet in one shot, but the side view is a jubilee clasp (and is identical to pic 4 from the expensive sale). Very strange. conx 0 Posted March 7, 2014 There is a "buy it now " button embedded in the listing which takes you out of eBay directly to PayPal. This is not kosha practice. There is no way this guy hasn't sold on he bay before. Everything just reeks scam to me.
davmit 0 Posted March 8, 2014 Any idea what the recourse is should you get a fake?? Anyone with zero feedback would be resistant to helping you out- he would just re-open under a new name.
myaz 3 Posted March 8, 2014 Definately rep. The serial number does not exist. Serial for 1978 is 5482000 added to clarify. 79 starts at 5958000 so a 78 is anything in between

Always do everything within eBay, including any communications with seller. Always pay with PayPal. You have some chance of getting your money back if it turns out to be fake. However, always research, ask questions and do your homework on the seller before bidding/buying. This could save you the heartache later.
wtcf90 1 Posted March 10, 2014 I don't think I'd ever buy anything of value over say £200 on eBay, been burnt too many times - not with watches mind you but with bricked iphones!
