What is the heaviest watch you wear?

Recommended Posts

Electron17

Just been and weighed my 3 heaviest watches, all on SS bracelets. My Rolex DSSD was 210 grams, my Seiko Kinetic diver was 220 grams and my Omega UPO 45 mm was 233 grams. What are the weights of your watches?

Never weighed em. But I can tell you that the PAM 243 is a tank.

The 243 sub is my heaviest watch.

I weighed some of my collection previously...

The superocean was the heaviest I owned at that time..

I'm debating whether to sell some of my collection as I'm really only comfortable with up to around 150gms which is the weight of a Sub-C with bracelet so lots of watches heavier than that.

Hi, the heaviest is the Piccard Limited Edition DSSD at 206 gr., probably has 1 link less than Yours

IMG_2162c.jpg

nearly followed by the 196 gr of the PAM 193 submersible Depth Gauge which actually wears - a lot - bigger, it´s 47mm

The SS Audemars Piguet Diver with just 179 gr. is somewhat of a lightweight compared to these - still from the feel it´s as heavy.... different weight-distribution

+1 It should be alternated on your wrists so one arm doesn't develop more muscle than the other one.

Interesting question. I'd never weighed any of my watches, but having the scales to hand chucked a couple of gens on there

Surprised how similar in weight despite the classico being 53mm. I'm guessing the leather strap helps.

nah.. those are all tiny, girlie watches ;)

Try a sundial watch.. I don't have a scale, but I bet it outweighs any of those posted above! The jpeg alone weighs 23.4 grams!

Many of the 44mm watches on SS bracelets weigh more than 200 grams. That's getting too heavy for me - most of the end up on straps at that

point.

I have far fewer sport or divers watches than most folks here but I was surprised my Graham or Oris weren't my heaviest. My Chronomat on bracelet is 208g. I had a Welder that probably was heavier, but traded it away on M2M. Weight might've been one of the reasons I wasn't thrilled about wearing it.

Thanks everyone for your contributions, some very interesting comments. This has raised the question in my mind, how much does the weight of a watch contribute to the enjoyment of wearing that watch? BigDee62 said above " Weight might've been one of the reasons I wasn't thrilled about wearing it " and I saw a member selling an AP Diver forged carbon in the M2M section saying it was too light for him. I enjoy both light and heavy watches but I like the heavy watches to move a little around on my wrist otherwise I feel like I am being strangled. Maybe the TD's could add the weight of the watches they are selling to their posts advertising the watch. How do you guys feel?

I've got a gen Superocean Colt that was too heavy to wear with the bracelet. Its only 42MM and still the heaviest watch I own. I've got it on leather now, and its bearable.

My Sinn U2 would be a close second if it was on a bracelet. That this is a solid chunk of metal.

My DeepSea Challenge is certainly a contender for balancing out the muscles on my non-w**king arm.
