myaz 3 Posted March 16, 2014 There's a bike! As with any bike, I'd look for a watch that is as round as possible, with no sharp corners, preferably with a break away strap . I'm just too old for the thrills and spills of motorcycling….but I see what you're trying to do. More will come along and post combos, hard to top yours. I pick my watch for what I do after I get there.
Baldrick 1 Posted March 16, 2014 I feel your pain when trying to decide on a suitable watch that matches both your clothes and your mode of transport......I've been taking some pointers from Reg ...(tho' I've yet to develop the confidence he has in expressing himself )....he seems to have it down pat....... Frankt8242 1 Posted March 17, 2014 (edited) This watch: My only modern gen... The spark plug comes from a 1967 Cooper Maserati V-12 F-1 race car... I picked it up at Watkins Glen in '67 while hanging out in Dan Gurneys pit area...The C/M pit was next to them, and when Jochen Rindt pitted for a spark plug change, they just threw the old plugs onto the ground(there were actually 36 plugs, 3 per cylinder, with their "triple redundant" ignition system!! ) BTW...It's a "Champion G-59R" plug.. And I only had a pit pass because I actually found one laying in the mud.... These days, the car would have to be my '07 Subaru OutBack, since it's my sole ride... :giggle: BTW...That was the race that Jim Clarke won running the last two laps with a broken rear suspension....Sadly he was killed @ 7 months later... Watching him make those last two laps from the vantage point of the pits remain the most memorable moments in my race watching lifetime...
