thepianoplaya 0 Posted May 15, 2016 As we grow, there are all kinds of questions that the noobs seem to ask. Instead of one of us trying to search our way through all the pertinent threads and posting them in the shoutbox, I figured I would start a thread and include all the basic info a noob needs to read. This will be a sticky and therefore quick to find and post so that all are in one place. cipets 0 Posted May 30, 2016 Hi, I am one of those idiots that saved up money for a full year and burned it on one genuine Rolex and Panerai. But my taste has become a little too expensive and I could not put myself into buying the likes of Patek and Audemars Piguet, the ones I like cost too damn much and I could not put myself into splashing that sort of cash. I have then found this site after looking around for an alternative. So firstly, like to thank you all for making this forum. Now down to the reason behind me joining. I have a few questions which I hope to get an answer from. 1. Which dealer does ship their watched together with the boxset I purchase? And do they send it to Malaysia and Singapore, place I reside. 2. I saw the list of trusted dealers, went through almost all of them, one thing I wanted to know is, from the consensus, who do you all buy yours from? 3. Do these dealers get their watches from the same factory? If so, what's the difference between one over the other? Mods to make it look closer to gen? I hope someone could help me as I am looking at Royal Oak Offshore Schumacher, Royal Oak Tourb, and Nautilus. Which dealer gives me the best ones? Thanks a bunch... CIPS 1) ask the dealer if they have rep boxes. Not all brands are available and the quality is various. I prefer a good multiple watch box than a single space-stealing rep box... 2) we buy from all the TDs. Each has his own preferred or even more than one. 3) generically speaking: yes. All the NoobFactory watches come from Noob factory. JF from JF factory etc. We select the TD based on our experiences with them, price, extra services like triangulation shipment, custom seizure protection, discounts for the use of WU instead of PayPal etc. Only BK is a modder (TC is a builder) but only for Rolexes based on Mio fsctory models and the mods are fixed (you can't ask to have genuine movements le stuff like that). About the watches: questions like "who has the best xyz" normally gets bad reactions, because you have to do your homeworks to get what you want. And it is a matter of factory and version, NOT a metter of dealer.
cipets 0 Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) Thanks GenTLe. Loads of abbreviation need to learn from in here... thanks for replying though. But.... 3) generically speaking: yes. All the NoobFactory watches come from Noob factory. JF from JF factory etc. We select the TD based on our experiences with them, price, extra services like triangulation shipment, custom seizure protection, discounts for the use of WU instead of PayPal etc. Honest, final question. What is JF and Noob factory. When I go into those sites, I only see the movement specs, but not which factory does it come from. Do you have an example as to how I should be able to see the maker/factory? I went into Perfect Clones, but there is no mention of JF or Noob factory anywhere in the watch lists and desription. Really, thanks for all the help. You've been great. Cheers, CIPS Edited May 31, 2016 by cipets

Really, thanks for all the help. You've been great. Cheers, CIPS Those are the factories that make the watch which are then sold by our trusted dealers. It is not always immediate to get which does what. Sometimes are clear like this Non factory one: http://www.torobravos.xyz/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=849 Or this ZFactory one: http://www.torobravos.xyz/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=981 Other time they are more obscure like this Nomos: http://www.torobravos.xyz/index.php?route=product/product&path=249&product_id=1330 Common factories have names like Noob, ZF, BP, JF, KW, V6F and so on. Sometimes the same watch is produced by.more than one factory (i.e. the Ceramic Submariner is done by Noob, JF, BP plus a number of more obscure factories) or the Tudor Pelagos (ZF and KW). Some other time a factory has 2 names (KW = V6F)... So the trick is to read, search, read again and then decide which version of which watch and which factory you may want. And also with which movement (currently a ceramic submariner is available with Miyota 9015, Asian 2836, dg2813 alias 21j and even some "supposedly" Swiss ETA -which I would stay far away from-). When you have decided model, factory, version and movement.... Then you select your dealer and proceed with the purchase. Note that you can't expect that a Noob Submariner v4 (2 years old version) is still available, also considering that they did then v5, v6 and v6s in the meantime... Confusing? I know. The initial learning curve is really abrupt. But in 1 year you will probably know more on watches than many watch aficionados.
