AllergyDoc 40 Posted August 27, 2010 Good luck with the recoup, X. Just think, 100 years ago it would have burst and you'd be dead from peritonitis.
JoeyB 0 Posted August 27, 2010 Good luck with the recoup, X. Just think, 100 years ago it would have burst and you'd be dead from peritonitis. Well, that's some bed-side manner there, Doc. Did you know that 100 years ago was the last time we had a Liberal Republican President? Great man. Put his face on a mountain along with the very 1st Liberal Republican president, and a couple of other Liberals too.

Well, that's some bed-side manner there, Doc. AD is the Robert of medicine LoL I like a straight talking doctor though, tell it to me straight. Bit sore, I have three holes! but not feeling bad. Annoying muscle ache in my shoulders and chest as my stomach muscles are hurting a bit and I'm not using them as usual, so others seem to be making up for it, but no pain relief needed so far, which is good Diagnosis to operation in 8 hours - certainly can't complain at that B)
Brightlight 0 Posted August 27, 2010 Hope you make a speedy recovery! And hopefully the Explorer will be back with you towards the end of next week, still waiting for my 29.5 caseback remover to arrive from die Vaterland. Got the waterproof tester up and working, it's all coming together.

AustinTech 0 Posted August 27, 2010 KBH - you are too old to still think anything comes for free. X already paid for the surgery with high taxes. He was going to pay for it wether or not he even needed it. No such thing as a free lunch, but there are still people who think they are getting one.

He was going to pay for it wether or not he even needed it. No such thing as a free lunch, but there are still people who think they are getting one. That's why the tax is called National Insurance AT, you pay for it whether you need it or not. Like Car insurance, House insurance, etc, etc. But, and it is a big but, if X had been unemployed or disabled all his life and never paid any tax (in fact cost the state) he would still get the same treatment. No it doesn't come free generally, and the service is bloated and wasteful, but when you really need it it's there. And if you need it multiple times a year, it's there, no limits (in theory, there is an issue with the cost of certain drugs and authorisation of their use)
KBH 7 Posted August 27, 2010 AT, I know that very well. Funny how I was thinking about you when I posted. I actually took out your name at the last minute. Nobody is expecting it for free. Just expecting to save some money, that all. Health care costs have risen at a huge rate, much higher than inflation for years. It's getting beyond the ability for most people to afford it while company sponsored health care plans are disappearing. It's broken and needs to be fixed. I'm not sure the new plan is particularly good or the best plan that we could have but at least some people are making an effort to fix an obviously broken system. Another thread successfully hijacked. Sorry X.

KBH 7 Posted August 27, 2010 First we had what Tom Brokaw wrote about, "The Greatest Generation" of my parents time. Then we had the Beat Generation Of Jack Kourac. Then we had the Woodstock Generation of peace and love. Now we have the "Me Generation" of greed and selfishness.
